A restaurant depends on its gas service to cook food.
Most restaurants get their cooking gas from an underground line (pipe) provided by the local gas utility.
Locate this gas "service"! Its noticeable by one or two large gas meters (probably grey) mounted close to the ground against the restaurant wall (exterior). After the meters youll see the gas line disappear into the wall of the restaurant leading to their stoves. BEFORE the meters youll see a single LARGE main valve! (ignore any smaller valves located around the meters themselves)
THE valve is usually located right at the point the gas line comes up from the ground. Youll need an adjustable wrench (med-large) to turn the valve nut just 90-degrees *COUNTER-CLOCKWISE* to shut it off! Then you apply a Heavy DUTY padlock to the main gas valve to shut the restaurant down. (best done in the early evening, weekends and busy holidays like Valentines Day, Mothers Day and so on!)
After you shut the gas youll see exactly how the padlock goes on.
Fast food restaurants?
They have the same setup, youll easily notice their gas service while waiting in the drive-thru line. From the drive-thru its easy to examine it and understand what you need to do.
Dont forget the HD Padlock! Just lift (steal) one left OPEN and hanging on any storefront gate in the morning.
With some luck, confusion, human nature and basic stupidity on your side you just might be able to shut their business down at primetime when they stand to lose some money.
At the very least they pay a locksmith while their employees stand around drinking coffee and getting paid. -Or- the owner/manager may bust a blood vessel getting the lock off himself, thats what Id do! Its not that hard after all, if their thinking. LOL
Watch for security cameras around drive-thrus, other than that its quick and easy.
