Weekly: Earnest aviation-themed coming-of-age drama "Spin" is notable primarily as the directorial debut of James (son of Robert) Redford. This pleasant, though unremarkable tale of teenagers confronting prejudices and personal tragedies in 1950s America might have made for an OK afterschool special or movie-of-the-week; on the bigscreen, however, it seems molasses-paced and short on dramatic energy.
