Variety - Very much in early Richard Linklater mold (with a visual nod to Todd Solondz), Voulgaris sets up two central figures -- film company accountant Bill (Argyris Thanasoulas) and aspiring filmmaker Nadia (Nadia Papatheodorou) -- and a network of people loosely connected to them. Pic rides -- and falls -- on individual moments and characters' behavior, ranging from Bill's lovelorn gay friend Nick (Nikos Giannikas) to Nadia's sexually adventurous roommate Anna (Stavroula Thomopoulou). Undermining all of this are unsympathetic characters, particularly Bill, whose habit of turning the film office into his private casting couch and porn-watching studio is beyond obnoxious. Insert of news clips showing Greeks beating Albanian immigrants is a misjudged bid for seriousness.
