Variety - There's a welcome moment in "Triptych" where Margaret Colin's character enters from the rear of the audience and starts heckling Ally Sheedy onstage, mercifully derailing the latter's perf as an actress in "As You Like It." It's enough to make you wish for similar sabotage to be visited upon this production of Edna O'Brien's misbegotten play. While the Irish author is known for creating strong women, this recent work instead offers three women behaving indecorously over an unworthy man and, despite no end of overreaching literary references and florid speeches, it fails to disguise the heart of an overripe melodrama.
