This is a very simple, but tricky magic trick that can be done with ordinary household items.
The Trick: You and a friend are walking down the sidewalk when you suddenly get thirsty. Your friend suggests that you stop by a mini-mart and get a drink, but instead of doing that you simply walk up to a trash bin, grab an empty, crushed can of soda and restore it to it’s regular shap and it is magically full of soda. You just open it up and start to drink.
Items needed: You and I and everyone else in the world with half a brain know that you just cant make a crushed, empty soda can restore itself to brand new.
Thats where the trick comes in.
you will need:
-1 unopened full soft drink(preferably coca-cola)
-1 thumb tack, pin, or just something sharp enough to poke a hole in the can
-1 piece of paper
-black sharpie
-someone to play the trick on
Procedure: 1.Take the unopened coca-cola and poke a small hole about an inch or two below the rim of the drink(carefull because the soda will spray out of the hole).
2. Empty about one third of the soda out into a cup.
3. Squeeze the soda can until it is in the shape of an hourglass, but do not dent it too much or else the trick will not work. just make the dents soft, but big enough to make the soda can look crushed.
4.cut the paper so that you have a little piece that fits perfectly over the part where you open the drink(the part the breaks off, or bends down when you pull the tab)and place the paper over it(first color the paper black with the sharpie) so that it appears that the soda is open.
How it Works: Place you set-up soda in the trash bin, or the are that you want it.
When you and your friend walk by, pick up the drink with your hand, trying not to shake it, and swipe your thumb across the paper so that it comes off, making it look like you restored that opening of the can.
And when you want to restore it, just place you finger over the hole that you made by the rim(you may have to shake the can a little, but dont shake it to much or soda will come out of the hole. Try tensing up you hand untill it shakes slightly).
The can should begin to expand into it’s normal shape.
When this trick is done correctly, it looks very convincing.
And the reason to use coca-cola is because it has more carbonation than most other sodas, and that is what makes the can expand when you put your finger over the hole.
I the trick does not work for you than maybe the drink was too cold. Try doing the trick when the drink is at room temperture as the carbonation in the drink is stronger at room temperture.
