I’m tired of n00bs coming on and posting three line, no pics and crappy explanation eggs with all caps titles. Here is my How-To egg for n00bs to post eggs.
The Title: Your title should be a couple words that describe your entire egg. Some important things for a title are:
-Use Correct Spelling This makes your egg look professional, and look like you have experience posting eggs.
-Use correct Capitalization It’s just plain fucking annoying when you see an egg title LIKE THIS or with no caps at all. It looks like a little kid posted it.
-Information Information in the title should include whether your have pics or not, and if your really popular yo ucan add your name. It can also include if it’s a tutorial or what type of egg it is, but don’t get too specific.
Introduction:
Any egg should have an intrduction. Just a few sentences explaining what your egg is about, so that people can read it and decide whether your egg is worth reading or not. An introduction should include:
-A quick summary A quick summary of your egg is basically all you really need for the introduction, but there are other things you can add to improve it.
-List of Items Include a list of materials and things that they will need in the egg for obvious reasons. No one likes getting 80% done with an egg and figuring out they don’t have an item they need.
-A picture A picture of your final product or the end result of your prank etc.
-Why you’re posting the egg Sometimes people have a reason for posting an egg, like the one I have in the intro of this egg. I’m posting this because im tired of shitty eggs.
The Body:
The body is the actual information of your egg. The body paragraphs or instructions of your story. It should have good format, and detailed information.
The Format:
-Paragraphs Dividing your egg into sections or steps or paragraphs makes it MUCH easier and more enjoyable to read.
-Headings/Sub-Headings Use headings and sub-headings to make it more readable and to label your steps. For example say step one and step two. Headings should be very noticeable and sub-headings should be a little more discreet. I usually use Bold and underline tags for these.
-Spelling and punctuation Good spelling makes you look like you know what your talking about and makes it easier to understand. Good punctuation pretty much does the same thing, but it shows some sophistication.
-Pictures Use pictures to show what you are doing for every step or every room you enter and neat things you discover(for exploration). This makes it 100% easier to understand and exploration eggs just plain suck without pictures.
Information:
-Details Your information should have lots of details. Details are good. Burn it into your brain. you want details.
Conclusion:
All your conclusion needs is a pic of the final product or result of your prank. You could also add a simple greeting, like "Thanks for reading my egg! I hope you learned something!"
PS. First egg statements ARE NOT wanted here("Go easy on my because this is my first egg" type of things.)

Feb 04, 2007 7:40 am - yeah i agree but i would stress more on pics... and egg without pics is not going to get a lot of 5 rating instead people will want pics and give it a lower rating even though its a great idea..
