OK, This is simple and easy:
[u]Materials:
1. Bag of Cotton Balls
2. A Spool of Sewing Thread
3. A Stick or Wooden Dowel
4. Bulk Candle Wax (Can be bought at pretty much any arts and crafts store)
5. Thin Wire
First: Take the wooden dowel and tie the thread around one end. you wont cut the thread until the end so just wait.
Second: Take like 5 or 6 cotton balls and roll them together and wrap the thread around them holding them onto the dowel. Do this until you think that you have a big enough torch. Then tie of the end of the thread and cut it off the spool.
Third: After you think you have a big enough torch wrap the cotton with the wire. This wont burn so the end wont fall apart, leaving you with a stick and a mess that is useless.
Fourth: Then heat up the candle wax in a pot until is is totally melted (be careful because if you get the wax over 200 degrees it can explode). Then put the end of the torch into the wax and leave it there for 2 or 3 minutes until you think the wax has completely soaked through. Pull it out and let it cool until hard.
Fifth: Light and have fun!
For an easier way that wont last as long, you can substitute the Fourth step with dipping the end of the torch into kerosene or lighter fluid. This is easier to light, but I don’t suggest using gas cause it is more volatile, diesel will work but its ignition temp. is much higher so you need to use something hotter than a lighter or a match to light it.
This is how i make them, i welcome any other suggestions or ideas on it. Thanks.
Mar 12, 2008 11:27 pm - This wouldn’t be particularly effective, mainly because the wax would melt and drip all over the place.
Also, kerosene and diesel don’t really ignite without a fairly specific air/vapor ratio. Your best bet for this is either gasoline or lighter fluid, probably.
Mar 13, 2008 10:58 am - I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
I see a line of cars and theyre all painted black
With flowers and my love both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a new born baby it just happens evry day
I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
Maybe then Ill fade away and not have to face the facts
Its not easy facin up when your whole world is black
No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee this thing happening to you
If I look hard enough into the settin sun
My love will laugh with me before the mornin comes
I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
Hmm, hmm, hmm,...
I wanna see it painted, painted black
Black as night, black as coal
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black
Yeah
