As a pre-note before I begin, I’d like to ask that any negative comments left to me should be backed with some constructive criticism. I can’t help you build cool stuff if everybody leaves really retarded comments.
Ok, let’s begin. The materials will be using today are:
1 high powered rotary tool (such as a dremel)
1 2x4 Lego brick (any color of your choice)
1 flat 2x4 Lego brick (also, any color)
Super glue (I prefer the type with the little brush. Waaaayyyy more accurate)
1 small flash drive. (The Lexar Firefly was a perfect fit! I recommend using this one!)
Construction:
Step one: Secure the Lego brick upside down. I used the vice grip on my father’s work table. (Note* I wrapped the circuit board of the USB stick in a layer of electrical tape, please do the same!)
Step two: Carve the inner circles out of the Lego brick, set the rotary tool to half speed-ish and be cautious not to carve a hole into the Lego brick.
Step three: Turn the Lego brick until it is vertical and clamp it again. With the Rotary tool still set in the half speed position cut the hole that the male end of the usb stick will protrude from. My cutting skills aren’t the best, but it works.
Step four: Slide the male end of the usb stick through the hole (I’m really not intending the sexual innuendo in this, but I’ll keep it for humors sake.) and press the back end of the USB stick into the Lego until everything is inside. It should look like this when this step is done.
Step five: Take the flat Lego and have it ready next to the Lego brick. Now, Take your super glue and spread it around the bottom rim of the Lego brick and quickly place the flat Lego onto the bottom of the Lego brick. Let the glue dry.
The finished product:
sorry about the photo quality. Im still learning my new camera. |

 | Apr 23, 2008 11:59 am - you could also make a cover with a 2X2 brick, then it would be perfect for any files you want to hide, just put the cap on and incorporate it into a lego structure. i call for a follow up egg

I was just thinking that, I once had a pair of New Rock boots with a small metal grill on the back of the heel that kept falling off to reveal a hollow area withtin the sole itself, to make the boots just that extra bit lighter. that hollow area was the ultimate weed stash or anything else small you needed 2 hide, once the grill was secured with an extra screw that held in place but bent back to allow access.
5* from me |

 | Apr 23, 2008 3:19 pm - Or instead of taking the guts of a flash drive out, just to put them back into a lego, just leave it as is...1* for effort |

 | Apr 23, 2008 6:26 pm - this has been on instructables for over 1/2 a year but 3 for the effort
