So driving around one day in a nearby town one Saturday I passed this huge steel mill. So after stopping and poking around abit I decided it looked abandoned enough and set to get in the following day. So Sunday came and me and my friend had a look around, and seeing nobody on property and finding a good spot to go over the fence we cut the wire and hoped over, making for the nearest building.
When we got to the door it was locked and it looked like there trucks inside. So then I started thinking \\"Well this dosent look too good\\". Now knowing it may not be as abandoned as i thought we made our way to the larger building. We came to an open old wooden door and found ourselves in a small and abandoned room. \\"Oh, I guess it is abandoned\\", at least I though that until I stepped into the main section and saw it clearly wasnt. Being a bit more nervous now me made out way through the plant a bit quicker and quieter than I normally would have done but in the end we got out okay. Enjoy the pics.

 | Nov 08, 2008 5:57 pm - ... Holy Divuh, itsa Fivuh! |

 | Nov 08, 2008 6:14 pm - 5* |

 | Nov 08, 2008 6:46 pm - First exploration in awile, 5*. And wow, if that is an active steel mill they should get shut down, those are horrible conditions. |

 | Nov 08, 2008 7:02 pm - Pics 3, 4, & 15 are the best ones there. 5*s BUT next time don’t just number the pictures...say what you were thinking and what was going on around you. |

 | Nov 08, 2008 8:09 pm - I’ll give this a five because it is good but next time you should definitely add actual captions ot the pictures and you may want to take more of them. But its obvious that you’re a pretty good photographer and I think you could do a lot more with such a large location. |

 | Nov 08, 2008 9:32 pm - I fived it. Shouldn’t have, its a pretty crappy exploration egg.
Needs captions, more pictures, and more interesting pictures. |

 | Nov 09, 2008 12:46 am - 5* welcome to the site |

 | Nov 09, 2008 5:14 am - Nice, I see you used a Cannon EOS Digital Rebel XTi to take to pictures, not a bad camera...5* |

 | Nov 09, 2008 1:50 pm - FIRST exploration egg in a while! 5* |

 | Nov 09, 2008 2:37 pm - Reminds me of a clegg egg. 5* |

 | Nov 13, 2008 3:13 am - Well, you earned a 5* dude. As most of the others said, first exploration in a while. Very nice job. Try and get more pics next time though. Should add captions of things like smells, thoughts, events, and maybe a pic of you IN there somewhere as well. Not gonna bump any points off though, good egg. |

 | Nov 21, 2008 8:25 pm - I have more pictures, I would add them if I was able too. I wasnt sure how many to include, I’ll be sure to have more next time.
And the reason it looks like shit is because ot was abandoned for a few years after having been in operation from the early 1900s or so. The new company bought it and is manufacturing stuff while they are renovating the buildings to make them more modern. |

 | Nov 25, 2008 8:22 am - Your photography skills are epic.
:] I loved it 5* |

 | Dec 01, 2008 2:08 pm - +1 Respect |

 | Dec 01, 2008 4:56 pm - I was sure I’d commented on this when you posted it.....!
Ah well, you get another 5* from me anyway. I too really liked the pic of the doors with the light coming through the gaps. Awesome pic. |
