Never actually tried this, but I’m sure it would work:
1. Turn off the power. Most important step of all. If you skip it, you’ll either fry yourself or screw up the prank. This works best when everyone’s out of the house or asleep.
2. Unscrew the doorbell.
3. disconnect the wires leading into the push-button.
4. Reconnect them, bypassing the button.
5. Screw the doorbell back on.
6. Wait until someone notices the power is out and goes to check the circuit breaker.
7. Hide, because the doorbell is going to start ringing unceasingly, there wil be no one at the door, and you’ll be in deep crap if anyone finds out it was you.
