First off, this requires a little bit of technical knowledge (as to how radio systems work).
Ok. Go to a fast-food place and ask the manager if he knows what kind of radio system that the drive-thru uses. He will probably say ’I don’t know’ or ’I can’t tell you that’. The systems that are used for the order-takers end of the conversation are usually VHF-Hi, UHF-Mid or 900 mhz systems. So if you don’t get an answer from the asshole manager, you have to look on the internet. What you want to do is get a scanner, program all the possible frequencies into its memories, drive into the parking lot when people are ordering at the drive-thru, and scan through the memories and see which ones are active. You should scan through-151.715,151.775,154.57,154.600,169.445,170.245,171.105,171.905 Mhz.
When you find the frequency of the order taker, you need a radio that is more powerful than the one they are using. Go to radio shack and look for a VHF-Hi business band radio that will cover the frequency of you target (these are usually expensive, so I recommend asking the clerk at the radio shack If he/she can order an ALINCO DJ-195 or DJ-196 for you). When you get your new radio, take the back off (DJ-195/6), Look on the lower right hand corner, remove the plate, and cut the blue wire, reassemble, hold down the func/set key and turn on the radio. Now program the frequencies in, drive to a mcdonalds, and program the TSQ to whatever the drive-thru uses (usually 107.2, 110.9, or 88.5 hertz), and have fun! You now are the order-taker, and feel free to abuse this power! You can take orders, cus out customers, or make sexual noises in the drive thru from over 5 miles away! |
