I HAVE NOT TRIED THIS PERSONALY, SO I HAVE NO IDEA IF IT WILL WORK. IF YOU TRY IT USE EXTREME CAUTION, AND LET ME KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

FIRST, YOU WILL NEED AN ESTES MODEL ROCKET ENGINE( ANY SIZE WILL DO, BUT I WOULD START OUT WITH AN ’A’ SIZE ENGINE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS THEN TRY A BIGGER ONE.) YOU WILL ALSO NEED A THIN WOODEN ROD, WHICH CAN BE FOUND ANYWHERE LUMBER IS SOLD, AND THE LAUNCHER. START OFF BY DUCT TAPING THE ENGINE TO THE ROD. THE MORE TAPE, THE MORE LIKELY IT WILL STAY ON. CUT THE ROD TO ABOUT 61/2 INCHES LONG. INSERT THE ROD INTO A CAN. MAKE SURE THAT YOU LAUNCH ON A DAY WHEN THE WIND ISNT BLOWING, SO THE CAN WONT BLOW OVER. INSERT THE IGNIGHTER INTO THE ENGINE( IGNITERS COME WITH THE ENGINES WHEN YOU BUY THEM.) ATTACH THE 2 CLIPS FROM THE LAUNCHER TO THE IGNITER, AND LAUNCH. MAKE SURE YOU ARE FAR ENOUGH AWAY, THAT IN CASE IT DOESNT WORK, YOU WONT GET HEART. HAVE FUN, AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

Mar 19, 2005 3:57 pm - I tried this
I tried this one day except i used some kind of shishkabob sticks or somthing and just taped the engine onto a peice of straw. then put the straw over the stick w/ a peice of tape around the stick to hold it off the ground. and i used the proped igniter and what not. so i lit it and it flew up with quite a whoosh and kinda spiraled out of control. then burnt out and fell. another one just went up then hit the ground and burnt out. i also did it with a much larger engine i think it was a "d" class and it went up and spun around then went down and hit the gorund and bounced back up and flew around a bit. it was really quite cool. its kinda expensive tho. but since i live in canada and am a minor i have no way of getting real bottle rockets i guess this is a pretty good idea
