As Most of you can tell from my user name, I love to hunt. Hunting has been a tradition in my family for a very long time. I remember the first time I got lost in the woods. I had been sitting out in my treestand for quite a long time. All of a sudden a huge 8 point buck came out of a cornfield about 60 yards out. I got out my rattling antlers, and called him in. However he decided to lay down right under my tree stand. I could not get a shot off, nor could I get down because I did not want him to know that I was there. I sat out in the woods for almost an hour and a half longer than I normaly did. Finaly When the buck decided to get up and walk away, I climbed down and clicked on my flashlight. I knew the general direction in which I was going, but still I couldnt really find my way back. After trapsing around for almost a half hour, I finaly took a deep breath and remembered what my grandfather had taught me. ’ If you are ever lost in the woods, never pannik. If you think you are neer a road, sit down on a log, and listen for a car.’ I sat down, and listened and finally I heard a semi about a half mile east of me. I stood up and began to walk in that direction, and pretty soon I was out of the woods.
