Did you know you could actually make money off of Ipods? In this tutorial i will show you how with a initial investment of 40$ or so you can make up to around 150$
The principal of this tutorial is that people sell broken things on ebay and you can exploit that. Ipods are what i have found work best in these situations. I buy broken Ipods off of ebay for as little as 25$.
You might say who cares its broken! I say look up ipod parts on ebay. Ipod screens go for at least 50$. Ipod harddrives can go for up to 300$ depending on the size(i choose 10gb harddrives which go for 50$) Ipod casings can go for 20$ and the actuall mother boards can go for around 10$. Batterys also go for around 10$ this said theres alot of money to gain from your initiall investment.
Theres more to it than that you need to scope out the damaged ipods on ebay in order to find the best possible situation for financial gain. For instance if you get an ipod with a broken harddrive you may make a total of 40-50$ for your effort. If you get an ipod with a broken head phone jack or one which will not hold battery charge your looking at making a profit of around 90-100$ sound good?
In most item de5criptions they include what the problem with the ipod is ex(THE APPLE SIMBOL COMES UP AND THEN A LITTLE FOLDER DOES TO I DONT HAVE THE TIME TO DEAL WITH IT) This is a clasic example of a damaged harddrive so you probobly want to stay away from this one. Another example is "The item has some damage or imperfection as noted here, and is sold AS IS.. NOTE: battery will not hold charge, no refunds excepted." This is a perfect case for your exploitation. This will provide you with a working screen harddrive and likely a headphone jack and mother board this can score you big bucks. The main seller i have found of ipods with this problem is 2ndturn if you search the seller for the seller.
Once you have purchased your ipod you will need to take it apart and obtain the parts. first off Opening the case: Insert (i like to use a guitar pick) or you can use a flathead screwdriver verticallybetween the plastic and the metal next to the firewire port insert tool as far as possible and then slide it up and around the sharp metal upper left corner or the ipod until its about 10 mm from the edge at this point pry up and release the first of 5 clips on the left side holding the two case halves together. Once youve released the first clip continue to slide the blade downthe side of your ipod and the remaining 4 clips will come fairly easily. With one side of the ipod open you can now lift the plastic case half away from the metal portion with it will come all the electronic components. he rest is a snap the battery in generation one and two ipods is stuck with strong adhesive to the harddrive so you will need to remove that using your tool and then you have your harddrive lift it up and carefully detach the IDE cable. Now you should see a blu plastic thing remove it underneath id the motherboard you will need a T-6 screwdriver availiable at your local hardware store to remove the 8 screws on the mother board. undo these then remove the plastic caseing and detach the screen.
You need to list the parts on ebay make shure you include the details including what generation ipod they are from and the harddrive size etc. they should be in good working condition adn your good to go.
A note of caution if your not confident doing this make shure you get a 10gb ipod that is broken as they are the cheapest and if you screw up you will at most lose your 25-40$ initial investment.

Nov 27, 2005 8:16 pm - this is great with and i-pod and it has like 7 pats and i have taken apart my psp and i heard a motherboard goes for about like 200-300 dollars (i have the old and non made 1.00 version i was one of the first 250000 people to buy one.
Jun 26, 2006 11:30 pm - so when i reboot my ipod it shows a bunch of file looking letters and numbers what would i need to buy i really need to know cuz its a 4gb nano
