This is a very old trick (here in Ireland anyway.) I’m not sure if any of you have heard of it but it takes the boredom out of your common or garden cigarette.

OK, well you take your lighter, you know, the ordinary butane ones with the roller that strikes the flint which ignites the gas, it should look something like this:

Well just using the roller you start slowly moving the roller. You don’t want to light it, not even make it spark - what you’re doing is shaving off flecks of the flint into the palm of your hand. Chances are you won’t be able to see them, but they’re there. Sometimes they do show up as tiny brown specks. Anyway, when you think you have a lot there, take your cigarette. It should look something like this:

Now roll the entire length of your cigarette, (apart from the filter of course) well in your little shavings from your lighter. They’ll stick to it, trust me on this.

Wait til you’re with a bunch of friends then light up as per normal. With every drag you take on the ciggie it’ll flash and spark like a good thing. It’s completely harmless (not unless you consider the ad campaign we have over here that says "every cigarette is doing you damage"). The draw-back of this one is it gets old very quickly, do it when people are drunk, the stares of amazement are funny. Apart from that it’s just a novelty that wears off pretty quickly after everyone’s tried it a few times and giggled over it. Of course, you could do it as a prank and offer the cigarette to a mate without saying anything. Hehehe.
