Ok... I know this has been posted 1001 times but the ping pong smoke bomb has yet been seen with pictures! I only wanted to make this egg for the pics, but I might Give a bit of instructions with it!
Ping Pong Smoke Bomb Materials: 1). Ping Pong Ball or Tenis Table Ball (Both the same!)
2). Tin Foil!
3.) And a lighter!
Ok we will start off with these simple instruction:
Step 1 Gather your materials!

Step 2 Cover your Table Tenis ball in tin foil!

Step 3! Your pretty much finished! Here’s the final product!

Here’s what happens when you ignite your ball!

TIP! If you have more foil on your table Tenis ball it makes it harder to ignite but when it does, the foil blows out and makes a nice noise!
Sometimes I dip the foil in Minneral Turpintine to speed up the process!
Less foil makes it easier to ignite but dies out quicker and creates less smoke!
Great little smoke bomb for indoor use not that good for Outdoors cause the smoke kinda drifts away!

Jun 11, 2005 7:47 am - i always thought of pingpong ball smokebombs as being inferior to the good ole saltpetre ones, but that picture makes me question my judgement. Maybe i’ll try the pingball kind some time

Jun 11, 2005 8:15 am - Lol that picture on top is not from ping pong. But yeah, these are inferior to Saltpeter, but are good to make if you can’t get your hands on any KNO3.
Jun 11, 2005 8:27 am - If you crush them up, then they are more compact and take up a smaller space, easier to carry. The plastic involved is increase too. The smoke is probably the plastic burning at a high temperature
Jun 11, 2005 8:31 am - Yeah. Say we just had no Tennis Table ball and we set it on fire! It would just melt a hole through it! Now the tinfoil heats the ball and burns the outer casing leaving a black crust! If you had a heap of crushed ones it would probably burn at same depth??

Jun 13, 2005 5:51 pm - tin foil has no burning properties so i can’t light.... or just not easily and get the ping pong balls from mythbusters......they used nearly 40,000 in an experiment
Jul 15, 2005 9:34 pm - nice 5* if you want to make more of a stream jet of smoke and make the bomb spin. add a tail from the ball and make the hole at the top about the size of a large nail should look like this:
Dec 28, 2005 1:36 pm - Great Egg :). 5*. I just tried it out with my buddy, it takes a LONG time for the inside of the foil to get hot enough. Is there any way to speed up the process? Another question, is there a way to make more smoke? In your picture, I saw at least 4x more smoke than what we got.

Jul 08, 2007 7:44 am - there is a place near me where i can buy 6 balls for 60p, so i go there bulk buy, go to the nearest corner shop, buy some tin foil and just stay on the park half the day making them then near the end, setting them off :D
