Well here is an egg for the help of filling up a lighter! I’ll run down a few things first!
Lighters Here are the lighters I’ll be showing you to refill:
The Jet Lighter The jet lighter is usually filled with butane! Butane can be bought at nearly any store.
The Zippo Lighter The Zippo lighter is filled with a form of Zippo refill; this can be bought at nearly any store!
The Bic Lighter The bic lighter is a lighter which is cheap and most commonly bought at service stations. There is no reason to fill these up because the lighter fluid cost more than the lighter!
Filling The Lighters!
The Jet Lighter! I will show you how to fill up a jet lighter, first!
You will need to buy butane. Butane is a form of gas that treats into a liquid. Here is the picture of what it may look like:
There are many types of refills but I usually buy this for its price and quality.
Ok this is a jet lighter and it is empty!
On the bottom of a jet lighter you will se 1 or 2 holes! This is for your gas butane.
Ok now you have your choice of hole, you have to get your butane out. As you see below you have what looks like a long tube of metal. As soon as you push down on this tube it releases butane.
Now you have to fill your jet lighter! Get that tube and place the lighter on top of it (with that selected hole in place) and push down, leave for a few seconds and then take out the butane.
But When filling your lighter you must fill it upside down so this is what it must look like when filling it!
Now you have successfully filled your butane jet lighter!
The Zippo Lighter Here I will show you how to fill a zippo lighter! Ok first you need zippo fluid, this can be bought at tobacco shops and other stores! Here’s what they normaly look like:
Now take your zippo lighter and flick the cover open, You will notice the top. Focus on this, As below in the picture:
Now grab the top and pull it out of the cover, you will end up with a result like this (Even though they look alike)As you will see the body of the zippo is to the right of the cover!
Now look on the bottom of your zippo body you will see a screw and and a hole! Leave the screw intact and focus on the hole.
Now take a pencil or something that would fit inside that hole. gently put it in and pull back the wool like material.
You should end up with a result as below. You will see more wool like material. You are nearly finished to refilling your zippo lighter:
Now take your zippo refill and open the top cap which will look like this:
Slowly pour that fluid onto the wool untill you think you have put enough in.
Put the foam cover back down and get a tissue, wipe the zippo refill you may have spilt and then put back into the zippo cover.
Your zippo lighter has been succefuly refilled!
The Bic Lighter Refilling a bic lighter is pointless, they are cheap so you might as well buy another one for 50cents. I know below is not the regular bic but I’ll show you how to waste it before you refill it.
I got bored so I added a bit to the egg,
You have to have a lighter with a flame extender lever (Or whatever you call them) lift it up and keep turning it till your desired level. Now your butane will be flying out everywhere. All I wanted to do is show you some pictures, here they are:

TROUBLESHOOTING My Jet Lighter still wont light after I have filled it! It is important that you hold your butane refill upside down when refilling otherwise it wont work. My Zippo lighter will not light after I have refilled it. If your lighter does not light it may be because your wick, If your wick is new it may not light. And don’t worry if it turns black. That is ok. Well that about somes up filling lighters, Please rate it a 5 because I worked hard on it (And these days its hard to think of an egg)

Apr 16, 2006 6:15 pm - where do i buy jet lighters? every time i go to the market i buy about 5 Bics cause their 20 cents each and i see fake Zippos for 2.5$ and zippo fluid for same price and butane like the one in your pic for about 77 cents but i NEVER FIND JET LIGHTERS,i wants one so bad,please give me ideas which kinds of stores sell them or where i can get some other lighter with a colored flame.

and how fair can malfunction ur lighter but since you pictured the butane i have (NEON) 5*!
i just realised the 4 triangular things at top off a neon lid are adaptors -.-’ lol
May 28, 2007 11:15 pm - Ok for real. I just want to refill my baby blue bic lighter. Anbody have a decent solution? I really like this thing, been with me for almost a year now.
