I think this is on the site but I have a better way of doing it.
What you need: Lighter you dont plan on using anymore, another lighter, and a pair of plyers so you dont burn your fingers
How to prepare it: First take the old lighter that you wont use anymore and put the side that lights in to the palm of your cupped hand. Then carefully dislodge the sparker wheel keeping your cupped hand over it so as not to lose the spring and flint. Next you take the spring and stretcht it, not until it is straight, but until it is just a longer spring. Wrap the flint in the center of the spring by folding the spring over it and twisting so that the flint is securley in the spring.
How to do it: Now take the plyers and grip one end of the spring. Take the lighter with the flint and sparker wheel still on it and light it. Hold the flame under the flint until it turns red hot. It turns into a martoonish red first, keep the flame under it until it is glowing orange. Then take flame of the flint. Here is where I changed it. Usually people say to throw the glowing hot flint at the ground, a person, a wall, etc. but the best way to do it is to flick it. Doing it this way will make a bang, a very bright flash, and tons of sparks.
Dont rate my egg badly because its already on the site, I am just trying to improvise on it.
Jul 23, 2005 1:46 pm - By "flick it" I mean flick the flint with the nail of your finger as you would flick your friends. And no it wouldnt hurt at all as long as you dont use your skin.
