1.Do an Ollie. Remember to bend deep at the knees.

2. Once all four wheels have left the ground, and your front foot is sliding up the board, use your front foot to manipulate the board as if you’re going to do a late 180. It’s pretty much the same frontside and backside, but backside is more sensitive, so don’t try and exxagerate it too much at first.

3. Once you’ve shiftied all you want, simply steer the board back. The peak of your shifty should correspond with the peak of your ollie. Your back foot is important in repositioning the board for landing. Be forceful with it.

4. When you land, make sure the board is facing straight forward in the direction you’re going. Pain will result if you fail to complete this task.

Note: Start with frontside shifties, then go on to backside, then fakie, nollie, switch-stance, kickflip, no-comply, etc.
