It was a cold january that year, wich settled upon the land with an ice cold iron grip. For the most part we had forgotten about our war with Lincoln, having snowball fights in the niehborhood rather than paintballing and setting fire to enemy forts forts once captured. Besides, the police had been getting into it after us burning down the tree-house often stopping kids on the street. Things had frozen to a halt. From across the river we could see our enemies having snowball fights amoungst themselves at thier factory, and paintballing in all the abandoned and rusted stuctures. They’s set fires in oil drums to warm thier hands and had hockey games on the frozen river.
But then something happened to re-ignite the conflict with a new fury. It so happened that craigs sister, while walking home from the corner convience store, getting a jub of milk or something. Eric and some friends happened to be walking in the opposite direction. They pushed her into an alley into the slush, calling her a bitch and so forth. They didn’t hurt her or anything just scared the fuck out of her. So when she came home crying craig was pissed as fuck. So he called us up and we all gathered at the bunker. He wanted to beat the shit out of eric, fight him man to man. We all decided together to end this fight once and for all. So we all sent messages to the Lincoln hicks that we would fight them on thier soil, at the Factory. We all worked for a week on making smoke bombs and flash bangs, getting together crowbars rope and wrenches, any tools we might need for fighting in the factory. We even constructed potatoe cannons out of pvc and some rocket launchers to fire the individual Saturn V rockets. Craig and i even researched street fighting techniks, especially the battle at Stalingrad on the eastern front in world war two wich was fought building by building in the rubble strewn streets of the city. When flushing out enemies from buildings it was best to do it from the top of a building down. We all went to the painball shop getting compressed air cannisters and more ammo for our guns. I duc taped a laser pointer on my gun for added acuaracy.
By sunday morning we were ready, with our boots, army coats goggles and winter hats on. This was the paintball battle to end all paintball battles. We gathewred in my back yard and all marched down to the riverside across from Eric’s factory. As we all stood there across from the river, with the icy wind blowing snow around us we could see that the Lincoln kids were ready too. They had put up boards thorn bushes and rusted carts as barricades,, and dug trenches with picks and shovels in the frozen ground. We could see gunners in the windows of the buildings. Attop the nearest building we could see a potatoe gunner poking out of a hole in the roof. And there was Eric, sneering at us from one of the fire escapes. Our plan was to creat a diversion by sending some guys to attack head on, and establish a position. While they were fighting, craig, tyler anf I along with pat and ryan would infultrate the complex by entering a pipe entrance that led into the factory in the riverbank. Two kids carried supplies on sleds, we were to do our best to protect them so as not to loose any bombs or extra ammo. Ryan yelled “CHARGE!!!!” and we all surged across the ice. As soon as we hit the west bank we came unde heavy fire. Little tufts of colored snow sprang up whenever paintballs hit the ground. I got shot in the neck, wich fucking stinged. Our immediat aim would be to conquer the small biulding that held the potatoes gunner. Our “Grenadiers” threw the flash bangs into the trenches and the Lincoln kids who were in them got the fuck out. We scrambled up the steep bank and jumped over the baricades and into the trenched 4 cover. Ryan got hit in the stomach with a potatoe wich knocked the wind out of him. He stuggled 4 breath at the bottom of the trench. While we were under fire i wondered how that we would enter the 1rst building , they had aparently blockaded the door that led in, but it was made out of old wood, wich would certainly snap if the right emount of forse was applied./ I then saw a rusted dolly that was onc used to pull around cargo. So Tyler pat and I loaded it with some pipes and pushed it with all our might towards the door as we were being covered. It did nothing but cause some icycles to fall o us and dust to fall. So Ryan and I grapped a pipe and started ramming it at the door untill the wood began to crack. During all of this we were pepped with painballs like a buch of angry bees. We then threw in a smoke grenade or two into the doorway. Soon the lincoln kids began to jump out of the windows and run to the main building. The potatoe cannoneer shot a potatoes at me at point blank rang that collided with my shoulder at tremendous force. We waved at our companions wildly to come surge into the building. They did pushing out some more of the lincoln kids who could stand the acrid smoke. We then set about fortifying the building, knoching over shelves of rusted machinery parts for cover in front of the large smashed out windows. I lay against the crumbling concrete walls and drank from my canteen as i rubbed the pain out of my shoulder. Some kids lit a small fire out of wooden boxes that they jumped upon. We all settled in for the counter attack. Tyler craig anf I slid down the bank to enter the Pipe system. Once inside we were consumed in darkness. I held my lighter up ahead so we could see in the flickering light. Our boots crunched on the ice. Rusted pipes were bent from the concrete walls, and icycles formed from the drippings. We finally came to the ladder and began the acent into hostile terretory.
