There are thousands of companies on the Internet, eBay’s about the only one turning a profit. By the time you’ve sold your 1973 Topps baseball card set, they’ve taken a listing fee and a percentage of the final take. But with every slamming there is a slammer. Simply register your item as you would normally, only set a super-high reserve price that no one could possibly reach. If some idiot does, well, hell, pat yourself lovingly on the ass for making some easy loot. But assuming no one is stupid enough to match your ludicrous reserve price, E-Mail the highest bidder once the auction has expired and cut a deal. You’ll avoid the sales fee and make more than you ever thought possible on that Davey Lopes rookie card.
