Well my last egg about shoplifting at Wal Mart was a bust and it tought me to just stick with what I know. So here you go, after all why try and walk out with a CD when you can just dip a pocket and pay for the thing, plus still have some extra cash on hand.
Now first off, I realise that Wal Mart has cameras in it. However the thing you have to realise is that they are looking for shoplifters and thats pretty much it. They focus in on subject who look like a potential shoplifting threat and watch them, but they don’t have the man power to watch everybody. You stealing from other customers really doesn’t hurt them so they don’t look hard for it and as long as you don’t do something stupid like jack a purse and make amad rush at the door you’ll be fine. Wallet lifting tends to be up close than shoplifting does so they aren’t goign to be able to see you very well while you are working.
(Note: Unlike most stores, however, you might not want to go purse hunting in the parking lot beause they do monitor that area for such things.)
Obviously the best time to strike is when they show you where the wallet is, at the checkout counters at Wal Mart are so crazy sometimes that no one is goign to notice you either bumping your way through or dipping a purse as you pass. Your mark has exposed their wallets here, meaning they’ll be easier to lift beacuse either the pocket has been opened and the lip is free or the purse is open and the wallet is on top.
RESTROOM: It’s been said before and it’ll be said again, but a good place to get your marks’ wallet is the restroom. Wal Mart is even more convenient with this because their restroom is right near the exit. Simply slip in after your mark, and wait for him or her to go into a stall and shut the door. Now here is a few ideas for you, if its a woman wait and see if she puts her purse on the coat hook or not. If she does, wait until she turns to put the toliet cover on the seat or sits down to do her buisness. While she is doing this quickly reach over the wall and nab the purse. After that store the purse in a bag or take the wallet and then toss the purse back over the stall. It will take her a moment to understand what jsut happened and you’ll be long gone. Now if she puts her purse on the floor, or you are dealing with a male target, wait until they are doing their buisness and grab the bag or wallet. The purse is simple, just reach under and grab. Notice which pocket the man has his wallet in so you’ll know which side to reach under. They will be caught with their pants down and you’ll make off like a bandit.
CLOTHING ISLE: A good thing about Wal Mart clothing isle is that it is tightly packed. This means you can reasonably bump up against someone, and that can mask your lift. It also means that women can’t always fit their carts up the isle with them, and so leave it sitting out. If you are a woman you can get away with jsut taking the purse and going, or if you are a man lift the wallet while she is distracted. The tight isles and tall racks cover up a lot of things, like if you want to really be stealthy and reach through a rack and into her bag. With men its simple to bump into them as you are passing through.
Electronics and Grocery Isle: What’s to be said here? Odds are your mark will be distracted by what they want to buy and you can use that to your atvantage. With the grocery isle its a bit scetchy, seeing as how they are usually big, but the electronics isle gives good cover for a pickpocket. Move up the isle behind your mark, and either dip her bag while she is off looking at soemthign else or bump into him while he is distract playing the video game samples.
Here are some other random ideas that might help:
SWITCH:Wal Mart has a decent selection of purses for sale, so simply target a woman and when she’s not looking switch a new purse that looks like hers for her purse. That way she won’t know that her bag is missing until you are long gone.
PAGE: Find out the name of your mark, if you can, and then have her paged to a certtain aprt of the store where you feel you might be able to make your move better. Here is an example, if the customer service center is hectic have her paged there and then follow here there and have your buddy distract her long enough to take her wallet.
DISTRACTED MOM:Find a woman with some loud little kids and then hand them a toy, telling them that only one of them can have it. They’ll start to argue and the mom will try and break it up. While she is doign that nab her bag and dissapear.
OLDIE BUT A GOODIE:Some people are jsut too nice for their own good. Spill or knock voer somethign and ask for help. If tis a big enough mess or spill a few people might offer to help. Have your buddy nearby to rake in the purse or bump into the men when they are bent over.
Oct 03, 2005 5:17 pm - nice egg you have a 5! Also the money you get at walmart could be big bucks because people cary more cash when they go to a store unless they use a cardicard. With the money you get you can buy stuff that you cant steal. Like I bought ps 2 with the money i stole.
Nov 04, 2005 10:36 am - Merchandise I happen to Love the clothes isle. Great Egg !! Love the Switch idea. Another "switch" is to switch off a broken electronic product with a working one. Simply "buy" the new product, then go back later to customer service and return your "old" product (as it were new) Make sure it is clean and doesnt look "used" It has to pass for New. Be sure and take your receipt for the "refund" or "in-store credit" It all spends the same, so this way you can get Sumthing for Nothing LOL Another good one, is to switch boxes on products. Often times you can get a ’fancier’ product for the price of the cheaper one. Make sure they are the same brand name, and almost identical, except the more expensive one will have a few more ammenities. Good examples of this would be mixers, kitchen products, massagers (heat is added ammenity) etc etc I’ve never done this on shoes though, because in my experience, the cashier has always looked at my shoes and compared them to the box, to make sure they match. I’ve never attempted this with shoes. Be selective...something that cannot be easily opened by cashier..such as boxes that are taped shut etc
