This is my basic kit for Urban Exploration!

i also usually carry a backpack to put this all in. I also carry bolt cutters, More water, food, Torch and some gloves.Somtime when i go exploring pipes i also take a skateboard.

Oct 18, 2005 5:16 am - As I myself am an explorer at heart I found that you had most of the major things covered here.
However I think taking an ipod along is a bad idea, when underground or out at night you want all your senses at thier highest.
Another tip, if you decide to go into any tunnels ect. that you are not sure about, throw in a match to check for methane, be sure to step back after cause if there is any down there there will be a nice fireworks dispaly.

Oct 18, 2005 5:03 pm - You probably would want a dark cap too. A beanie cap works well for me. I also have found that film canisters come in handy for keeping and storing amall stuff, along with altoid tins and the like. Wash the containers out first tho. Don’t forget to throw the match as soon as you light it; it will go farther and stay lit longer because there might be a hole in front of you that you can’t see where gas comes out of.

May 28, 2006 4:26 pm - i take a monocular to scope out the area incase there is police,sucurity ect about also a mobile for inviting freinds or incase shit gets bad and we’r in an emergency
