this is sort off difficult to explain but i’ll try my best.
This is basically an aeriel shotgun shell.
MATERIALS:
rocket engine(size dependent on how far you want it to go)
metal tube(big enough for the rocket engine to fit snugly in and about 3-5 inches longer than the engine)
extra BP
metal bb’s, ball bearings or marbles
wading
plastic cover for the opening of the metal tube
mercury igniter(hard to get but you can make it)
PROCEEDURE:
1. open the top of the rocket engine and remove the parachute and charge
2. put super glue around rocket engine(wear rubber gloves so you don’t get it on yur hands and you can smear it better)
and and slip metal tube around the engine(so the extra length is at the top). let dry
3.attach mercury switch to side of the inside of the engine(attach so that when you turn the rocket upside down the mercury switch will activate)
4. add metal plate under the mercury switch and a bit of wadding around the mercury switch with cardboard on top of that(make sure the wires still potrude from the mercury switch underneath all of that)to prevent accidental misfire
5. add BP (with the switch wires in the BP to ignite it)
6.put wadding on top of BP then add ammo of yur choice(bb’s,ball bearings, marbles etc.) then cap with plastic and yur done.
TO FIRE:
have rocket at 75’ angle (or if you want to calculate the angle for yur target just don’t aim straight up)
WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN:
when you launch the rocket it will have an arching path(just like any other projectile, but it will be more arching because of the warhead) and so when the rocket points diagnal or downwards the mercury will go down the tube and complete the curcuit and then it will ignite the bp and launch the projectiles
NOTES:
after the mercury switch is in do not tip the rocket or it might go off killing you or your dumbass friend making it with you.
this might not work if the inertia of the rocket keeps the mercury at the back of the switch but i don’t know.
well i hope you understand it(if you don’t know what a mercury switch is look it up) if theres a problem with this let me know as this is only a theory.
Dec 07, 2005 3:37 pm - what That is a little confusing. It would be easier to just weld a little handle on to the pipe, and srew on a lid at the end of the pipe. You can drill small holes in the cap and rune wires from the connecters through the holes, and plug it into one of those rocket launchers that come with the rocket. ALOT cheaper than a fuckin mercury switch.. God u f-ing reatard.

Dec 07, 2005 7:54 pm - what!?!^^ oh ya i forgot you can use a fuse delay(just put a fuse from the top of the rocket engine(last to burn)to the gun powder) but with this you have to do a lot of calculations for the lengths of fuse and burn times
Jan 17, 2006 1:25 am - i think it would be easyer if you just had an electric igniter ,which you can get from model shops, and glue it at the top and then you just have to buy new igniter parts which are like 10 for £3. but also why bother shooting things out you might as well just ad som card fins on the side of the rocket and push them to the side so that when the rocket goes out they would pop out and direct then you have your self an anti-personel rocket launcher im going to try this idea out and ill let you guys know! check me out some time.
Jan 20, 2006 8:55 pm - yes according to inertia the mercury wouldnt hit complete the connection but when it hit the ground it would ignite making a m203 sort of.. but also you can do this a rig a shotgun shell primer and attach something (i.e a BB ect) to the outside of the primer so that way when itcomes down it will expload on impact
Jan 23, 2006 10:23 pm - oops read it wrong^^^ thx for informing me, hmmmmmmm maybe use a smaller engine for the weight ratio before to decrease the inertia, but that requires a different calculation. but what you said might not be true so i guess try it, if it doesn’t work try this way if it still doesn’t work i guess it won’t.
Apr 08, 2006 9:45 pm - Im gonna try this and maybe experiment with a different kind of switch and well hopefully I don’t kill myself or blow a arm off.
May 20, 2006 3:49 pm - instead of a merc switch y dont u use a small tube like a pen a ball bearing and a little pressure switch
that should work as good in theroy
Jun 16, 2006 7:41 pm - k this is a good egg and i tried sending you a message but you dont accept non aproved friends and wat not so here we go ... i dont understand y you would have to use a mercury igniter this igniter is incredibly dangerous when making any form of explosive turning stable material into incredibly unstable shit so instead of using a mercury igniter i would just drill a small hole through the engine and put a green firecracker fuse through it this kinda saves you from the risk of accidental suicide also depending on how far u put the fuse in the rocket you could either make a cluster bomb that will blow up above your enemies or a delayed frag bomb that is kinda like an rpg except the shell is delayd these are just suggestion and i give you a four u didnt get the five because of the high risk of accidental suicide
Jan 10, 2007 1:31 am - I was about to make an egg on this, but replace the mecury switch with a timed fuse. Mercury switches are hard to get these days.
