Jan 20, 2006 10:17 pm - I’ve got a Tippmann Model 98custom with a Flatline barrel, which I couldn’t play without, because it makes my gun insanely accurate. It’s also got a cyclone, response trigger, and a double trigger. I did the pen spring mod. It also has an inline regulator which I use with HPA. I take it off when I use CO2, which I use outdoors. I have a custom part for taking the reg off and fitting it back on. I used part of the flatline system for it, as well as shaped caulk.
As far as tactics, you just need to get really far out onto the field on one side and lock down your shooting lanes. Say it’s a dorito and you’ve got lanes on either side. You’re on the right side of the field. You want to pop shots off at the right side of an enemy bunker if it’s in front of you so that they lean out to your right and try to hit you. Give them a teeny little target, generally something flat so that if they are lucky enough to hit it, it’ll bounce. If they are noobish enough to think they have a chance at hitting you like that, they’ll keep pouring out the paint and eventually run out. They might even forget that they can reload, or maybe they didn’t see why they should bring a pod along.
While they’re on your right side, lean out to the left, make sure they can’t see you (stay back a bit), and squeeze off shots at players across the field from you. Try to keep your fire going sideways, because there’s nothing more deadly than crossfire. If and when the bunker in front stops making your dorito bounce around, you can assume they’ve run out of paint. Run as fast as you can, staying really close to their bunker as you run by. You’ll be too close to aim at, and by the time you get behind them, they wont be able to wriggle around and bear their marker on you. Just shoot them in the back. Try not to hit them in the neck;).
This works pretty well, and now you’ll be able to pick off the enemy with ease from a nice, safe position. Just light up whoever you see on their side. Waste paint. When they’re off the field, move into their bunker, making usre that your teammates know you’re a friendly. Just walk up the field (it looks cool) casually and squeeze off shots at the enemy. Even vets don’t look behind them too often.
