Hello boys and girls! Today we shall be talking about the great burnpile! For my family owns a hut up in the mountains.(A decent drive away, I live in the city.) And on that land we have accumulated massive piles of wood, brush, and whatever miscellaneous crap we wanted to throw on there!
So one day, we finally got the burn permit, gathered up 5 gallons of diesal, 7 gallons of gasoline,a few friends, and a bright smile. For today we would finally burn the damn pile!
We weren’t initially planning on using gas, so we tried diesal, which proved to be a gigantic pain in the ass. We would stick newspapers on the diesal, burn the papers, and nothing would happen. Diesal blows. Usually it would only burn for a few minutes, but one corner caught pretty well:
This wasn’t enough, so we started throwing soda cans filled with gas into the flames. This did the trick! So to celebrate the healing of the fire, we took pictures of ourselves and danced to keep the rain gods away:

The fire still wasn’t burning like we wanted it so we created a devious new plan. We would take this log up the hill:
And then we would soak it in gasoline:
And the rest of the damn diesel:
We then placed a small bottle of gasoline in the side of the fire that hadn’t caught yet, so the plan was to light the log, and then kick the flaming log down the hill, where it would knock over the bottle of gas and send flames everywhere:
And then we kicked it down the hill, but it went out before it knocked over the gas, so we all cried when we saw this:
So the answer became clear, we needed something magical to make this sucker burn. And Hark! We found it!

And more gas...
It finally got to a point where my dad had the 5 gallon tank of gas, and he was drenching that side of the burn pile, it had a good 3 gallons on it, when all of a sudden I hear a massive WHOOSH! And we turn around and see a 27 foot fire ball! And we see my dad hauling ass in the opposite direction! He dropped the rest of the gas can into the fire, so after many minutes of work, the fire was going strong!
And going...
And to make sure there was no more gas in the tank that was in the fire, we shot it with a 12 gauge shotgun!(Hey we are in the mountains, we can do whatever the hell we want. It doesn’t have to make sense.)
We had school the next day, so my friends and I said our goodbyes to my dad and his friend, piled into my car, drove down the mountain, almost hit an owl, got food, got blazed, and congratulated ourselves on a day well spent.

The photo is a little decieving, the trees are acutally around 12 ft away. And I photoshopped out the heads because I was drunk and thought it was funny. |

next time, try burning it differently, like i dunno.....hollowing out severel logs, filling them with petrol(gas)...the lighting the fire with the logs spread throughout the pile....could be fun |
