New Years Day Exploration (PsYcHo-560)
Ok I know this is a bit late but we’re all on holidays!! Chill out take some time off and read about my latest adventure into the world of exploration!
After Christmas with my dad I came back up to Brisbane for New Years Eve, Every time we go there we stay in the Sofitel. It’s really nice but I’ve never explored it before… I went to sleep.
It was now New Years Day after a night up late and some drinking I woke up amazingly early! (5:30am to be exact) to wear off the head-throbbing pain I decided to go for a quick dip in the Hotels pool that I was staying in, I read the sign and to my horror it said Open 6:00am-10:00pm!! I had my room key with me and decided to card the door, it was extremely easy! So I jumped in the spa then lapped the pool a couple of times then moved to my room again.
Mum, Ian and my sis were still asleep with the curtains shut and I was bored so I decided to climb the fire escape stairs as far as I could when I got to floor 30 (from floor 10 that I was staying on!) I tried the door and to my delight it was OPEN! This is what I saw!
I looked around quickly for things to loot and came across this CO2 canister and some power tools but didn’t take them…
I walked across the unfinished restaurant and found the kitchen and more fire stairs!
I climbed to the next floor and came out into an open area on the roof!
Those big white thingos are for filtering some water for something… they are VERY loud!
Then I climbed a ladder and took a pic of the view then of the satellite dishes and aerials (see the time on the big Suncorp clock? Its 7:15am or something close)
I climbed down and walked over to the opposite side that I came in from to go through a double door, this is what I saw… (After I found the light switch)
I looked around and took some pics…

Ever wonder why hotel rooms smell like crap?? This is why!
T.V. that controls EVERY channel in the hotel! It was cool I wish I worked as a cleaner!
I found this giant crate it was huge! Like 4 meters high!!!
I walked through this door… (Took the pic cause of all the warnings!)
Then up MORE stairs and found… This!! These are the giant motors that pull up the lifts!!
And lift controls
Now I couldn’t go any father so I retired to my room and 5 mins later mum woke up and we had to go! Lucky I got all that in!!
If you are ever in Brisbane, Australia convince your parents to stay in the Sofitel and climb those fire escape stairs!! No security at all!
