Pictures at bottom.
Materials
1. A 2 liter bottle with a cap
2. Scissors
3. Rubber tubing
4. A hot glue gun
5. A source of flammable gas ( it works better if the gas is less dense then air, but others work)
6. Water
7. Soap
First get your 2 liter bottle and cut it in half( keep the upper half, you can throw away the bottom half or keep it for later ) Now with your cap, put some glue on the threads and screw it tightly onto the bottle making sure no liquid could possibly leak out of it.
Then take your rubber tubing and glue it to the inside of the of the bottle like in the picture and let it dry. Now glue it to the outside as well.
Now you are going to add your water and soap, put the water in first and then add just enough soap so the mixture still looks like water but makes strong soapy bubbles.
Now you can add your gas to the soapy water do this by having a flammable gas forced threw the tubing so it goes into the water forming a bubble, now you can light those bubbles on fire.

 | Feb 12, 2006 3:40 pm - I actually just tried this minus many of your steps. I had a little bottle of water and I decided to try this. I tightened the cap and didn’t put tape/glue on it. From there I cut the top where it funnels from the body of the water bottle to the part where you drink from. then I took that and flipped it into the larger part of the bottle. I then filled it with some water and some soap. Next I took some left over surgical tubing from a sling shot that I made, and put it over the nozzle of my butane bottle. I took the free end of the tubing and put it in the water. Then I pushed the butane button down and it made the bubbles just as you said. From there I scooped up a handfull of bubbles and lit it. It makes a very large flame and It doesn’t burn because of the water in it. Pretty cool experiment. 5* |
