So you got a fancy new iPod and want to watch your own movies on it. You spent $300,
why should apple charge us to obtain videos??!11
Alright, first what video format are you wanting to convert? If it’s a DivX/Avi Video follow the steps under 1:) If it’s a .wmv (or any other formats i think mpg, asf, etc.) follow the steps under 2:)
2) Now you need to install it, just click your way through it.
3) Ok, after it’s installed open it.
4) On the left side of the window, near the top, click the Convert tab.
5) Click the Transcode New Video button, and find your video file
6) Give it the title you want
7) Now this is very important, under Quality profile make sure it says:
SP/320x240/768KbpsStereo/128Kbps
8) After you get that all set, click start
9) Wait for it to finish, then open iTunes
10) Goto File->Add FIle to Library...
11) Head over to C:\Program Files\VideoraConverter\Videos and you should see your video, click it and then hit open
12) It should now be in you library and ready to send to your ipod
4) Download and install both
5) Now open Stoik
6) If it prompts you select freeware version
7) For input file select you video file
8) For output format choose AVI for PC small
9) For Output file, choose browse for output file. Put it somewhere you can find, give it a name and click save
10) Now click the record button near the bottom of the window
11) Let it do it’s work, then when it’s finished exit
12) Now open up Videora Converter
13) On the left side of the window, near the top, click the Convert tab
14) Click the Transcode New Video button, and find your video file that was just created by Stoik
15) Give it the title you want
16) Now this is very important, under Quality profile make sure it says:
SP/320x240/768KbpsStereo/128Kbps
17) After you get that all set, click start
18) Wait for it to finish, then open iTunes
19) Goto File->Add FIle to Library...
20) Head over to C:\Program Files\VideoraConverter\Videos and you should see your video, click it and then hit open.
21) It should now be in you library and ready to send to your ipod
The file created by stoik is kind of bulky, so you can delete it after you convert it in videora.
The DivX videos have very good quality on the iPod, but they will zap the battery.
The other formats aren’t as good of quality, but they don’t use nearly as much battery life.

Feb 10, 2006 6:36 pm - imTOO imTOO video converter is way better , it can convert up to 300x faster. You just need to specify frame rate or it will be messed up. You can see frame rate just by clicking on a movie in your encode list.
Feb 13, 2006 7:51 am - wher it says this Now this is very important, under Quality profile make sure it says:
SP/320x240/768KbpsStereo 128Kbps i cant get it to say that
Mar 03, 2006 3:51 pm - This is for the iPod video (5th generation I think)
Nikolai, please be a little more speific.
Do you already have the video in iTunes?
Mar 12, 2006 6:09 pm - These things never work for me. I hit transcode video while I have my dvd in my computer. I look in my computer and see the dvd but when I click it, it shows me two files one for audio and one for video. I clicked the one for video and then there’s over 15 things to in there. Is there a way to just get the whole dvd converted?
Until then I won’t rate.
Mar 18, 2006 10:27 am - To answer Izz’s question, this walkthrough is for convering video files, like mpg, avi, wmv.
DVD’s are a whole different story because they have their own screwed up format. Never fear though...
Here’s a tutorial for getting DVD’s to your iPod:
