de5cription: this is a small fountain that ejects sparks from a base when lit, heigth reaches anywhere from 1-8 feet depending on the amount of powder added to the base.
matierials:
1.roughly 1 tablespoon of sparklers crushed up ( use a mix of sparklers that shine red, blue and green; there is a chemical reaction between the different chemicals that make each sparkler colored, that chemical reaction causes them to burn faster)
2. 1 sparkler (fuse)
3. 1 aleve or tylenol bottle with the lid
4. piece of paper
5. small metal fitting off of a paintball gun (the fitting recomended is the one off the paintball gun that is used for the micro line)
6. lighter
7. drill or knife
steps on assembly:
step 1:
drill or cut a small whole in the lid of the aleve/tylenol bottle and insert the metal fitting, make sure there is no openings arond the fitting and whole, you want and air tight seal.
step 2:
poor the sparkler powder onto a piece of paper.
next poor the sparkler powder into the aleve/tylenol bottle.
step 3:
place the sparkler that was left over through the hole of the fitting in the lid (leave enough on bottom to reach the sparkler powder and enough on top to light and get away)
step 4:
place the lid with the sparkler in it onto the aleve/tylenol bottle making sure it is screwed down and tight and this is the final step of the procedure.
this is what it looks like going off:
place on a nice flat ground and light the sparkler that is being used for the fuse.
within 30 seconds depending on fuse leingth it will ignite shooting sparks into the air, like i said amount of powder will determine the hiegth of the spark shower and how long it will last. the metal fitting in the top is used to creat pressure in the bottle and make the sparks shoot out quicker.
Feb 14, 2006 12:10 am - nice work with the pics,yeah i made one with 200 sparklers,i put it in a little milo tin and put the lid on then i taped it down tight,thiss creats pressure and makes and impressive start to the fountain,nice work 5*
