-Ashes- *Magic Trick*
NOTE: The only place this is c/p from is my istructional word document I typed. If you don’t “get” this egg refer to my video. If you watch the video, you don’t have to read the egg. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzEeetet05g)
Materials: Soap (I used small, hotel soap which works best)
A half a Dixie cup of water
Playing Cards (Bicycle is the best in my opinion.)
A small, sticky note sized piece of paper
Pen or Pencil
A Volunteer or Friend
A Table (Works best but not needed.)
An Ashtray
A Lighter
Pre Procedure (With no one watching): 1. Get your soap and dip it in the Dixie cup. (With water in it)
2. Write with the wet soap your selected card. E.g. Ace of spades (Write AS for Ace of Spades or 3D for 3 of Diamonds and so on)
3. Take the deck of cards and put your selected card on top.
Procedure (with person next to you): 1. Tell them to cut the deck like this but not to put them back together.
2. Put the cards like this.
3. Talk to them about how you’ve done this a couple times but it doesn’t always work and make shit up so they completely forget about the cards.
4. Take the top stack, point to the top card and say there’s your card. Tell them to pick up the card but don’t show it to you.
5. Tell them to write it on a piece of paper and fold it up so you can’t see it. (Your provided piece or one they have just in case they think it’s tampered with.)
6. Take the folded up piece and burn it into the ashtray.
7. Pick an arm (acting unsure) and rub the ashes fairly hard on the spot where you wrote.
8. Look at your arm, tracing the letters/numbers and be like, “Was your card by any chance the Ace of Spades?”
9. Watch their reaction and try not to laugh.
10. Walk away like it was nothing.
Tips for this Trick: 1. To increase reaction, write it on both arms and let them pick which arm.
2. Practice a “False Shuffle” and “shuffle” the deck before you let them cut it.
General Tips: 1. Practice in front of a mirror at least once.
2. Don’t do it twice for the same person.
3. Don’t tell them how you did it.

This trick is on just about any magic video, I saw it on that one from brad christian
