Make You Own Flavored Tobacco For Hookahs or Rolling
This egg cover how to make your own flavored tobacco for both, hookahs
or rolling into cigarettes or cigars. First you will infuse the flavor into the
tobacco, and then choose to make either hookah or rolling tobacco.
-Materials You will need to obtain the following:
-Tobacco – either rolling tobacco or just slice open a cigarette or cigar
-Flavored Liquid – this will be the final flavor (duh!). Something like apple juice
or Mountain Dew will work, pretty much any liquid that won’t burn if
heated moderately (basically, milk is bad). If you are able to get the flavor
in syrup form already, then you have it easy.
-A Pot (not that type)
-A Large Container – a large soup can or even a Big Gulp cup will work.
-Rubber Band – must be pretty strong
-A Coffee Filter – must be big enough to cover the opening of the container,
if it’s too small, get a smaller container. If you can’t get this, you can use
a strong paper towel.
-Many Paper Towels
-A Baking Pan (if your making rolling tobacco)
-A Plastic Bag – Ziploc-style
-A Scraping Tool – this is used to remove the tobacco from the paper towel
afterward. I used an old gift card and it was perfect.
-A Stove/Oven – oven is optional, you can use the sun.
-Infusing the Tobacco with Flavor 1. Pour the flavored liquid into the pot and place on stove, set to medium heat.
DO NOT LET BOIL. Stir constantly to heat evenly.
2. When heated to the point when steam begins to form, place the tobacco into
the liquid.
3. As you let the tobacco soak, prepare the filter. Place the coffee filter over the
opening of the container, and secure with the rubber band (Hint: make the
filter top concave to prevent spilling).
4. Soak the tobacco for 15-20 minutes, and then pour through the filter, letting the
liquid fall through the filter into the container, while the tobacco is held
back by the filter.
5. Remove the filter and gently scrape the tobacco from the filter onto a paper
towel and gently pat away excess liquid.
You completed infusing the flavor into the tobacco! Now decide if you want to
make hookah or rolling tobacco.
-Rolling Tobacco 1. Spread the infused tobacco one layer thick onto the pan.
2. Either dry in the sun of heat in the oven. Careful with the oven as you might
over dry the tobacco or, god-forbid, burn it. (Personally, I use the sun.)
-Hookah Tobacco 1. Take the infused tobacco and place into the plastic bag with a folded piece of
paper towel, but do not let the two touch.
2. Lie flat and place somewhere warm, like near a heater or in the sun.
3. While the tobacco is in the sun, start making the syrup. Take the liquid from
in the can and heat away excess water until the liquid becomes the
consistency of runny salad dressing (if you started with a thick liquid, like
orange juice, go even thicker). DO NOT BURN, CAREFUL WHEN
BOILING! Keep in mind that less water lets the tobacco burn better.
4. Let the plastic bag sit for an hour or so, until the paper towel is damp. Then
remove the towel and add some of the syrup. Add about 8 drops for every
spoonful of tobacco.
5. Shake the plastic bag violently, making sure every bit of that tobacco is
coated. Add more syrup if necessary.
Your done! Store in plastic bag and save a small amount of syrup in case the
tobacco needs some refresher or more flavor.
-Conclusion Thanks for reading my egg. Some interesting hookah flavors you might
want to try that I found good are apple juice, Mountain Dew, Coke, Pepsi (a little
rough), and tobasco sauce (makes you mouth feel weird). Some rolling tobacco
flavors are orange juice, lemonade, any kool-aid, cherry (use cherry soda or dilute
the syrup from the jar of cherries), and, my favorite, grape soda. Any
questions/comments/concerns/clarifications, comment and I’ll try to respond.
P.S: This is my first egg, so tell me how I’m doing.

Mar 19, 2006 5:45 pm - if you smoke weed with a hookah, its not as good as a piece or joint. and if you infuse the weed with flavor, you risk lowering the thc content. my suggestion is add in a little flavored tobacco to the weed. soon i’ll have an egg for hookahs and weed.
M r 20, 2006 6:11 pm - You could just buy about 20 differrent types of pipe tobacco at John T’s, but this is orignal and sexy so 5 stars.
I used to smoke pipe tobbacco and roll my own ciggarretes, but I decided to focus all my smoking energy on pot. So the tobbacco days are far in the past!(around 6 days)
