Okay, I’m going to tell you how to make a homemade party popper, you know thoses chapagne things that shoot confetti. Why make them when you can buy them for a few cents each? Because homemade ones can have different size barrels so that you can shoot anything from confetti to BBs.
Materials
Small tube/ container
Electrical Tape
Pop pops
Roll caps
Super glue
6" String
Thin carboard
Procedures
Get your Poppops and unravel the tissue they are wrapped in. There will be small rock-like things in there. You want to keep these so put them to the size while avoiding any pressure put on them.
Now you can also remove the powder from your roll caps. Use a knife to make an inscision (sp?) in the middle of the cap snd pry out the powder with the tip of the blade. (Save about 1/2 tsp. of this)
Combine these two things together.
Get out your string and super glue. Tie a knot at the bottom of your string so it is the size of a pea.
Now cover one half of your string (at the knot end)with super glue and quickly roll the glued end of the string in pop pop rocks and roll cap powder mixture.
Now let this dry for 1hr.
Get your container. (If it is a tube, close off one end with a piece of thin metal (like the side of a pop can) and tape it on.) Make a small hole in the end of your container that is just big enought to slide your string through without the knot pulling out.
Now cut some cardboard so it is the exact same diameter as the inside of your tube.
Run the uncoated end of your string through the hole that you made in the tube (from the inside) with about 1 inch of uncoated string still inside the container to prevent premature detonation.
Add the rest of your roll cap powder directly next to the string.
Place the cardboard disk as a cover over the string.
Mar 27, 2006 6:32 pm - Not dayum... I have tested this once but I don’t have any poppops right now and they are hard to get where I live so this is just explaining what I did.
I just wanna warn people about getting the powder out of the caps. While I was doing it, I put just a little bit to much pressure on the powder, and BANG! it explodes. And because I was doing this right above the powder I had already accumulated, it set that off too. It ended up shooting something, maybe some debris, in my eye, and I had blurry vision for a few minutes. Now it just burns like fuck. You’ve gotta be really careful. And even though this is a pretty low explosive, it can still hurt if you are close enough.
Jun 13, 2006 2:25 pm - This is a waste of time and money. Just by the real champagne bottle poppers for 10 cents a piece.
(They just recently raised their priced, used to be 5 cents a piece)
