’No Name’ Me and my cousin embarked on probably our best ever adventure, literally when i say the photos on my pc after i had taken them i was well and truly stunned , i had had no idea that they would have turned out so well!it is our ’urban Exploration Of Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, here it is, Exploration!
well first off we were over there to see relatives and they said we could simply spend the day exploring, seeing as its a very small area, little did they know we were going to be more that just exploring!we went to the local post office and picked up some brochures to see what this island had to offer, we found nothing exept from some park tours, on the riverside. We decided to just take one of the tours, regardless of how boring it looked, you can see by the arrow in the third picture along, this is where we were supposed to pass by in the guided tour, however it looked like a prime spot to search to us so, we took a little diversion, and split away from the group, we searched the are and came acroos a kind of pile of extremely dry wood,
well as you can imagine, dry wood, lighter at hand and 2 teenagers, looks like the opportunity for a minature forest fire!, lol but the wood wouldnt light for some reason , maybe it was still a bit young and green, so it didnt catch that well, it was quite lucky that my cousin also had had the bright idea of bringing lighter fluid with him =] we splashed all the contents of the bottle on it and threw the lighter at it... and RAN!!

lol, but unfortunate as ever, guess what, it started to rain.... but this was rather impressive as it outed the fire and also sent a whopping plume of smoke into the air!
we thought that this was about it and we werent going to have any further luck that day but as we were heading back we saw a workman walking in the opposite direction, we headed over to where he had come from ,we seemed to be walking for years but we eventually came to this: (we pretended to be taking pictures of the scenery, lol)
we asked them what they were doing, or building, they said they were draining out that lake and re-doing the water system around the sides of it, we were naturally curious about the so called ’water system’ and casually asked how they were planning on re-doing them; hoping to get some info on where they were and wether we could possibly take a little trek down them! And this was our best bit of news all day - they said they had once been underground rivers to transport the water from the lake (which had once been a resovoir) into the town for their waater supply, however since the town had had an increase in factories they had had alot of acid rain, and seeing as the resovoir was below sea level most of the rain containing the harmful chemicals would drain into the resovoir, making it toxic to use, however they were planning on reducing the bad cemicals in the factorys and possibly rebuilding the resovoir and part of that process was to clean out the underground pipes which had been left derilict and unused for years, which as we were about to find out, were HUGE!!
We left the workmen to enjoy the sunshine while we attempted to find an entrance to one of these pipes, we didnt have much luck for a while but we finally found a manhole:
but, christ it absolutely fucking stank of something, we supposed it was stale 20 year old water!. well regardless of the stench we carried on down with our flashlights the ladder was slippery and had a green kind of gunk on it;
we couldnt belive how far down we had already gone, but, the good news was that we had got accustomed to the smell and darkness, so we looked ofer the ledge to see how much further it would go down for , we were fucking shocked, we couldnt even see the bottom!;
we carried on down, our arms and legs aching from the climbing, lol my cousin was climbing down the ladder and one of the bars snapped! hahah i was fucking pissing my self he was hanging there one handed screaming! hahah!
my cousin finally got to the bottom and left me a level up, we had some munch and drinks, it was pretty cold down ther and it was pretty lucky i bought a jumper but, it was good for some photos of the bottom;
lol i would have laughed if he had falled over the railing... anywho there was like a crossroads at the bottom with 4 different tunnels leading in different directions, we chose the one pointing north on my compass, we didnt know why but, well it sounds proffessional lol.
it was pretty scary that there was still water running throught the passages, the workmen had said , when it was being used, the water would have been practically up to the top of the tunnels! so i was half expecting a massive tidal wave of water to come rushing down the tube and drown us lol.
the tunnel above^ had me pretty much shitting myself because what you can see on the floor wasnt actually water! , it was a thick layer of gas which actually was quite viscous and was hard to push my hand through! it smelt like sulphur , you know the kind of rotten egg smell you get in your school science labs occasionally, the smaell of stink bombs, i didnt think it actually was sulphur as there would have been no source for it to come from, but it still seemed pretty freaky!
that one there is water^ lol but we were gettin a bit queasy what with the smell and lack of sunlight so we started looking for an exit,
finally we saw a chink of light up above but, god dammit whoever designed these pipes was a right cock , there was no goddamn ladder!,
however getting desperate now we quickened the pace and started jogging, i was starting to get ideas of them finding our bodies down here all rotten and decomposing after a year or 2! but , there must have been some1 looking out for us because, we found an exit and got good picture, my cousins favorite:
anywho we headed up and fineshed off our food on top ! and ended our Amazing adventure! ,
this is my first adventure egg and my cousin wanted to keep him anonymous so i didnt like show his face but what the hey, we had alot of fun making it and i hope ya wont be to harsh dudes coz this is my 2nd egg and my first exploration 1, hope you enjoyed it

Exploration eggs are rather boring, -1.
You didn’t take the time to host the pictures on image shack so instead of just scrolling down and looking, we have to click each time, -1.
