This is my third egg, I made this little invention up while messing around with Xacto knife blades (no i was no cutting myself).
THE GUN
THE AMMO
A Xacto knife blade
Small nail
You can use a dime to, they work just as well (not as much damage though)
(I know that is tetnis waiting to happen)
Stuff you need 1. 2 pieces of wood 1 1/2 in by 6 in
2. hacksaw
3. 3 skrews
4. Drill
5. xacto blade
6. staple gun (heavy dudty)
7. rubberband
8. 4 1/2 in. wood (for bow part)
9. cloths pin
OK now we are going to make the body of the gun by getting two pieces of wood and cutting one of them to were it is 5 in. (this will be the handle) Then you attach it to the side of the other piece of wood. Staple together firmly. (as seen in the pic below)
Now you get a hacksaw and CARFULY saw a straight line 4cm deep into the wood, be carful so it wont crack. Then you get the cloths hanger and CARFULLY drill it at the edge of the gun.
Now you get the bow part, and screw it on the body of the wood, drill the screws were the rubber band goes on first. When screwing in the bow, makes sure it is in the middle or the accuracy will be effected. Put the bow below the path were the ammo shoots out, so when shooting the ammo wont get caught and not shoot, as seen in this pic:
When you are done with all that, pull back the rubber band, load your gun, aim and shoot! This shit is dangerous so be careful. Pics of the ammo shot into a wall from 4ft away:
HERE ARE SOME MORE PICS:
Give it a nice paint job and make it look cool. I hope you enjoyed this egg.
Apr 06, 2006 2:41 pm - Could of showed step by step of how you made it, I dont quite understand how you made it and attatched the rubberband, cool concept, 3*
Apr 06, 2006 2:46 pm - beautiful
nice pics, though some a lil to close to understand what they are at first, but still really nice
effort was obvious
5 for u
A r 06, 2006 2:54 pm - Dude, this should be in the egg spotlight. Clearly alot of effort, and can’t understand why it is so low. 5*, would rate you higher if i could
Apr 06, 2006 3:33 pm - I donno man, the razor looks way to low on the track to be affected by the band, looks like it would just wiz over it, and the nail thats stuck in the wall has space around it, giving me the impression that it was tapped into the wall, not shot cleanly.
I gave you the benifiet of the doubt though, 5 *’s, good effort either way.
Apr 06, 2006 3:34 pm - nope, the rubber band slides along the slit in the wood, and the blade peaks out, the rubber band hits it, sliding the blade really fast
Apr 06, 2006 3:43 pm - beautiful!
even though mike8618 has a good point about the razor blade being too shallow for the elastic band to project it... i give you 5***** anyways
Apr 07, 2006 7:15 am - I can remember making something like that, but we shot rubber bands, at toy soldiers, or each other, just brings back good memories, *5
Apr 07, 2006 8:27 am - Dude Nice ass egg, that thing you made takes a creative mind bro. Good info and stuff, nice pics. 5*. Best egg ive read in the past month or so.
Apr 07, 2006 9:07 am - This is like something I once made but it looks a hell of a lot better and it’s more practical!!!
5***** and faves, all the way! Well done!
Apr 07, 2006 9:24 am - cool, you should double up the elastics and twist them. I’m gonna try that right now except I’m going to fletch some nails to stabilise flight and hopfully add range. 5 dude yo put alot of work into it.
Apr 07, 2006 9:27 am - Dude use fletched knitting needles.
Apr 07, 2006 9:53 am - you have no proof you made this you could of just bought it next time take pictures of u making it 5***** but more pictures next time of actually making it
Apr 07, 2006 1:28 pm - you could replace the rubber band with
a storing elastic band or somethin. any way great egg.
5*
Apr 07, 2006 3:32 pm - WHOA MAN tight. i see peopleall the time on dis sight claimin 2 have an easy way to make really dangerous weapons... u’r one one of the first who suceeded in doing so. i’ll actually try this 5****
Apr 07, 2006 4:06 pm - 5,,haha,,thats pretty cool,,I cant beleive some people are so stupid they cant understand how it works,or how its made.
I made a couple for me nephews.
Apr 07, 2006 4:29 pm - new group about welding, auto, machanics, i made it, i made the egg so i can spam-http://rotteneggs.co /r3/show/se/180604.html
jo n if you are intersted in this kinda stuff
Apr 13, 2006 6:51 am - Fucking sick man. i just shot a through a inch thick plank of wood. Instead of the elastic use heavy duty hospital strength bands. i scab em all the time. mine shoots bout 17foot now.
Jul 26, 2006 4:34 pm - Not bad, but is there a way to reduce the friction from the blade touching the shoot. It could be a lot more effective if you were to put a semi circle of pvc pipe in the shoot. 5* though.
