People these days just dont get it, you cant just put a hose over your car and expect it to be cleaner, unless it was covered in a layer of mud of course. This egg will go through step by step, how to clean your car the RIGHT way.

((((((((Pre-wash)))))))))
Always remember to keep your car in the shade, never in the sun. This is the number 1 rule of all car washing.

If you have a costco near you I highly advise picking up thier car care kit, its only $25 and has alot of awsome products that cost $100 seperatly.
((((((((instructions)))))))))
This is the simple part, just take a bunch of soap (or measure a cap full or so) and dump it into the bucket, mix with high pressure water.
Start by washing the roof of the car. Move the sponge or towel in wide, swirling motions, making sure to cover every inch of the car’s surface. It is best to dump some soapy water on the car, then apply the towel.

Make sure you go at it for at least 5-10 minutes to make sure you got everything.
Now bust out your hose and spray down your baby!

Make sure you get everything, any left over soap will damage your finish. (work up, to down)
Right away grab your towels, one in each hand, in a spread form, not in a ball, and immediatly start drying. To properly dry your wet car make sure you move from the top downward, and change towels often.
Soon your car will be dry.
((((((((clean your rims!))))))))))

Now lets move onto the rims. Rims often get loads of breakdust on them over time, make sure you clean then often, more than you clean the car, or the buildup will be impossible to remove.

You can go out a buy some rim cleaner, but I dont really like to waste my money.
The best way to clean your rims bar none is with a toothbrush and a hose. Just get your soapy bucket and fill with water, dump some soapy water on the rims and proceed to brush away. keep the hose on to clean off your brush when it gets really dirty. Your rims will look amazing in about 15-20 minutes, well worth it, but make sure you wash off the rim with extra ammounts of water
((((((((Wax))))))))))

Most people dont like to bother with wax, I on the other hand love applying it to my beater.
Apply the wax to the car using a semi-wet cloth, preferably something for cars. Make small circles with your sponge when applying the wax. Use care around cracks and places plastic is to avoid getting wax in the cracks. Make sure you have your toothbrush handy to remove the wax around areas it gets stuck.
Wipe off the wax with a towel after you have put it all on the car. Start with the section where you first applied the wax.
Buff the entire car with cheesecloth, or just a plain ol towel if your cheap
Now you will have a seriously clean car, and hopefully it will stay that way, but you will have to clean your car every 3 weeks or so to keep it in proper condition.

Pretty gay i think. If u cant wash ur own car just go to the car wash. Its only like 10 dollars and its very fast. Unless you like being wet with soap suds and getting sunburn u wuld like this.
Apr 10, 2006 1:20 pm - car washes will quickly take off your finish and burn a hole into your wallet, and I love to wash my car, theres nothing like the satasfaction.
and brakedust builds up on rims alot after about a year or so (enough that you cant get off)
