Overall Idea
You know those little pulling fireworks, often referred to as "booby traps"?
I was messing around with them with a friend of mine, and I thought of a neat little prank.
I didn’t make very many pictures in this egg because it is pretty self-explaniory, and because it is so short, there are not very many pictures you can take. I took the pictures for this egg a long time ago, and never bothered to publish it, but I was bored, so I decided I will.
Materials
- pulling fireworks AKA "booby traps"
- a victim with a bike
- knowledge of how to tie a shoe
- knowledge of when and where the victim will be with his/her bike
How To
First take your pulling firework out of the box. Common colors are red & blue.
Locate the back wheel of the bicycle and tie one end onto one of the spokes located close to the back brake. The best knot would be like a shoelace knot, but without the "bunny ears".
It should now look a little like this.
Now locate the back brake of the bicycle. If there is a hole where you can thread the string through, put it through the hole like this.
If not, just tie it around anything you can on the back brake. Even the wire works. Just tie it the same way you did on the spoke.
Now in this picture, you can see as the bike starts to move, the string get tense. This is because the brake is stationary, while the spoke will be moving. Therefore once the target starts moving, it will pull the string, and cause it to bang.
The Story
Me and two friends, after dicovering this simple prank, wanted to mess with the Elementary School kids. Their school is right next to ours, and we get out 30 minutes before them on minimum days because of teacher meetings.
We decided that as soon as school ended, we would grab our fireworks, and go to the bike-racks they had and rig their bikes with "booby traps". Many Elementery School kids ride their bikes, so it would be a lot of fun. We finished up in about 15 minutes, so we had 5 minutes to spare. We hid behind the bushes and waited for them to start riding their bikes. Since the kids come in surges, when one firework went off, none of the kids suspected anything because they weren’t around when it happened.
The first kid rides out, and BANG! he screams out loud, "DON’T SHOOT ME!". We were laughing so fucking hard. He was with a few friends, but none of them suspected that their bike was rigged, too. They start riding out and BANG! BANG! BANG!. You should have seen their faces. They were almost crying. They thought their bikes had exploded.
Conclusion
This prank was made for LITTLE children, who are scared easily. If you do it to an adult, it might shock them, but it will not have as much effect as on a little kid.

Apr 26, 2006 5:46 pm - These can be optained either at stores like Walmart and Walgreens (usually around 4th of July and New Year’s, in China town (I bought 50 boxes with 12 each inside for about $5), or online under the novelty fireworks section.
Apr 27, 2006 5:39 pm - thats to funny. i do something very similar, i wait till my dad or whoever is using the bathroom and then u ducktape one string to the door and the other to the doorjamb and then when whoever was pooping is done they exit and get all scared. In fact if they didnt just poop they woulda pooped themselfs!
