How to Make a Guitar Pick with a Grip

The Idea
Take some duct tape. Now press down on the non-sticky side a bit, and try to slide your finger. It has grip doesn’t it? Well ,that gave me the idea to make a guitar pick, with a duct-tape grip.
Materials
- One guitar pick
- scissors
- duct tape
How To
First, get your roll of duct tape, color of your choice, and take off a little bit.
Now press down your pick on the sticky side as close to the end of the strip as possible.
Now fold it over.
Then take your scissors, and cut it out.
What you should have at this point should be similair to this.
Start cutting the duct tape away, as close to the pick as possible.
Now you should just have a pick covered in duct tape.
Now decide how large you want the grip to be. A grip that goes father in front is good for plucking, rather than struming the strings. So if you were playing a fast song, were you would have to pluck the strings, a larger grip would be better, because it allows you to hold the pick closer to the front. Just snip at the side of the pick with the scissors where you want the grip to end.
Repeat on the other side, making sure that the line they create goes straight across the pick.
Now take the blade of your scissors, and match up the blade on the points you made on the sides earlier. Cut.
Now just peel of the duct tape near the front, and there you have it. A fully functional duct tape pick with a grip!

Good idea, but I have to give this a 1. You could just sandpaper the pick to rough it up a bit, or a little bit of craft glue, it stays tacky for hours.
Or, you could just go out and spend the 39 cents to buy a control grip pick. Every guitar shop should have them. |
