Yeah I know, normally this is the other waya round...but hey, what better way to learn than from the horse’s mouth?
There are several ways to avoid making youself a potential mark for a pickpocket or bag snatcher and they all boil down to making yourself less vulnerable...because most theives go after the easy prey. Don’t walk down dark streets, don’t leave your purses unzipped or money showing, in a crowd be mindful of bumps and don’t ever just leave your purse somewhere...because someone like me will simply walk off with it and your money.
While you may go your whole time without ever being robbed remmebr this...at any given moment a purse or wallet is being targeted for theft. If someone wants it bad enough they’ll take it and they might be as nice as me...they might have a gun or knife. Becareful fi you try to fight back
if you carry a purse, be sure that it is one that can be firmly closed, has a strong strap on it, and has a a duel opening (such a s a flap with its inner compartment zipped up) this might not completely save you, but it might make the theif move on to someone else more tempting
some helpful rules...
Out of sight, out of mind...keep an eye on your purse at all times, if you don’t want to cary it don’t bring it don’t flash to cash...for obvious reasons because if a thief knows you got money you are gonna loose it, and while you may like to show off your cell phone or Ipod...don’t
PICKPOCKETS No purse will ever be a 100% pickpocket proof, nor will it ever be even 50% snatch proof...but with some care you might just avoid having you wallet stolen...
unless you want someone to steal your purse, never do this. It takes no skill whatsoever to simply pluck a purse off the back of a chair and walk away. Keep the purse under the table, with your foot on the strap
also, don’t fall into the trap of the grocery cart...its a pickpocket dream’s come true. it only takes a moment of distraction, you look away and the purse is gone...trust me. Keep the bag on your shoulder
becareful of distractions...one comon on is to have someone bump into and spill the contents of your purse out while they help you clean it up your wallet or cash vanishes...there are too many more to name, but just be wary of anything that tries to draw your attention away from your wallet or purse
backpacks beg to be rifled through...which is why you should never carry your wallet in them. if you abosolute have to do so, besure to put it near the very bottom, making it hard to lift. by all means never put it on the outer compartment
while the euro style protects from purse snatchers it is the perfect set up for the pickpocket, expecally if you have it to the side or to the back...if you are going to do this make sure the bag is around front
if you do this someone will play kick the purse with you...’nuff said
PURSE SNATCHERS because purse snatching is a very unpreditable crime there isn’t much i can do to help you here...just be sure to try and make yourself less of a target.

becareful getting in and out fo your car...purses are easy money there..also, don’t jsut leave your purse in the car either. Thieves know all the little tricks about where you’ll hide it...including the trunk. It’s not like that ever stopped me
never cary your purse like this...because it will be gone in an instant
and please remember that while you may not want to believe it, women are just as likely (if not more so) to rip you off as men are. don’t leave your purses vulnerable to to people you don’t know jsut because they have a set of ovaries...because they’ll snatch you bag just as quickly
other than that just becareful and don’t worry...i’m not goign to tell you not to wear a purse (i’d loose money like that) just don’t put anything in there you can’t aford to loose
