Ok for my first egg I am going to show you how to make Knuckle Dusters. I know that there is already a whole lot of eggs on making these but alot of them include no picture and very little to no detailed information on making them. I got the idea of making knuckle dusters at school when my friend and I took jewllerry class. Well now to making them.
First is a list of things you will need:
- Hammer.
- Block of 1x4 inch wood.
- .85 inch metal tubing.
- Coat hanger.
- File.
- Soldering iron.
- Solder
- Hacksaw
*********************************
Step 1 Get your block of wood and carve one end so that it is pointy but not sharp.
Like so.
Step 2 Hammer the metal tubing on the block of wood with the end carved. Like So.
When they are together it should look like this.
Step 3 Now using a hacksaw cut along the line in the diagram and take the metal off and you should have a ring.
Step 4 *IMPORTANT* Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 untill you have a desired amount of rings.
Step 5 Now unravell the coat hanger and make it to a shape that you think will work well with the rings solderd onto it. You may want to use anothe type of metal instead of a coat hanger wire I just find it easy to work with.
Step 6 Now to soldering, Solder the rings onto the top piece of the metal so you have a good strong feeling when you hold them.
Your finished product should looks similar to this.
Jun 25, 2006 2:53 am - Sorry about not having real pictures because i have just recently moved house and the digital camera is at my old place sorry. But thanks for the good rating guys I really apreciate it.
Jun 25, 2006 12:06 pm - 3 cus of the effort. i personally dont like it. its much easier to just weld the ringss together and to the palm piece. but watever u guys want. in fact ill be nice and just not vote. ur welcome
Although the metal rings will be pretty sharp and may cut, doing more damage to yourself. And I don’t know if coat hanger wire is strong/thick enough to handle approximately 100 lbs of force.
I’ll give it a try and post some pics up later. May take a while due to the fact that I don’t know where my sheet metal is.
