Stoner’s Guide to Legal Highs Part I: DXM
Many of you on RE come here to search for a quick, easy and legal buzz. And the vast majority of eggs here totally suck when it comes to your satisfaction and safety. We’ve all seen the nutmeg eggs saying “eat like a shit load of nutmeg and youll be triipin ballz11!!” I’m here to put an end to the garbage, to protect you good folk from dangerous bullshit and educate you on exactly what causes those good vibrations. Sit back, relax, and let an old pro show you how it’s done.
DISCLAIMER: Before I get started, this document is purely for informational purposes only. I’m only writing this egg to PROTECT YOU from the lies and misconceptions that could get you hurt. Be advised that I’m not a doctor, and following my advice COULD cause you some bodily harm. But I think if you read my egg with an open mind, you will see how much of what you think you know could have killed you. I take no responsibility for your stupidity.
What’s an OTC?
An OTC is an Over-The-Counter medication that requires no pre5cription. This is the shit that you could find in your local pharmacy, or in places like Wal-Mart. They’re cheap drugs that treat symptoms like coughing, allergies, or motion sickness. In this egg, I will discuss the psychoactive DXM. OTCs are dangerous drugs, however. Any abuse of these chemicals can and will cause damage, at ANY dosage. However, I believe that it is important that you know how and why they can kill you, and what is the recommended dosage to experience the drug’s high.
Drug 1: DXM
Yea, what the hell?
No, not the rapper DMX. DXM stands for the chemical dextromethorphan, the active ingredient that treats coughs in common brands such as Robitussin. You’ve heard of this before, right? Robo-trippin’? Anyway, DXM is a very powerful disassociative. The trouble is it’s hard to find a cough syrup that ONLY contains DXM. I mean, you can be slugging down bottles of Robitussin, only to get violently ill from the added ingredient, Guaifenesin, which causes projectile vomiting at high doses. So how do you separate the DXM from the other crap? Well, lucky for you I know of an excellent site that can answer that question. It is complete with pictures and detailed step by step instructions. If you rather look for a product that contains only DXM, you can look and see if your local store carries.
WARNING: Recent studies show that DXM, when used in moderation (once or twice a month at lower dosages, once or twice a year at higher ones) is a relatively safe drug. That’s not our problem… it’s the other chemicals in the cough syrup/gel caps/lozenges, etc. that could. I cannot stress this enough: BUY PRODUCTS THAT ONLY CONTAIN DXM! DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, CONSUME PRODUCTS CONTAING ACETAMINOPHEN! DOING SO WILL RESULT IN PERMANENT LIVER DAMAGE OR DEATH! Acetaminophen is the active ingredient in Tylenol, and at doses as low as 5 or 6 pills, can result in liver damage. Don’t be fucking stupid and think you can down an entire bottle of ‘tussin with this shit in it. Don’t EVER take DXM or any other type of mind-altering drug while under the influence of alcohol, or if you are on ANY type of medication, especially anti-deperssents. Avoid use if having trouble with kidneys/liver. You have been warned.

DXM is usually very easy to find, and it comes in all sorts of forms. The most infamous is the bottle of cough syrup (and where the experience gets its nickname), where DXM is used as a cough suppressant. It can also be found in gel caps, which can be swallowed. These are hard to find with DXM as the only ingredient. Lozenges are another source. The only brand I am familiar with that is useful is Sucrets. Tablets such as Coricidin Cough & Cold (“triple C’s”) are another option. I don’t suggest using them, however because they contain other ingredients that can cause harm at very high dosages.
The High
DXM is a very unique chemical, as its users experience different “plateaus” or stages of being high while on DXM. There are 4 basic stages, with Stage 1 being the lightest and Stage 4 being the heaviest stage. At Stage 1 users are usually euphoric, giggling and laughing away. Stage 2 is similar, with heavier effects. Stage 3 is accompanied by a vivid sort of imagination, and enhanced creativity. Stage 4 offers hallucinations and out-of-body experiences.
It’s impossible to cram all the knowledge of this drug into a single egg. I will provide links for people who are still skeptical, or who just want to learn more.

but most ppl dont chug it cuz the taste
so u can pour a bottle of it on a pan or pot and set it in the freezer and the dxm will rise to the top
its clear and tasteless u can suck it up with a straw and trip for ever
but dont drink a robo
or u’ll end up will a bad high

I am experienced with RoboMaxing...and personally, the Tussin gellcaps NORMALLY have pure DXM in them...and are far easier to take than chugging the syrup...

I’m sorry but you’re totally wrong. DXM (Dextromethophan) is a hallucingen, with many psycadellic properties. At low levels, the experience is like being drunk and high. At higher levels, out of body experiences and alien/diety hallucinations.
This pretty much reiterates what I expressed on that last crappy DXM post, and the only reason I havn’t made a post on this, is because I thought enough people had wrote eggs on it.
Anyways good, egg, good spelling, if it is coppied and pasted, I have no idea where you got it, and finnaly good format.

Um, I am not sure about your case, but it seems highly irregular. DXM is very very very (can I say it any more?) hard to get addicted to. The only thing that you said even close to the truth is that you can get false readings. It may come up as an opium-positive, but the symptoms arn’t the same.

It’s not a physical addiction, but it can have a strong mental obsession based dependency. People can get irratible if they don’t have it, they can be depressed if they don’t have it, etc.

Read up on DXM. It’s not that bad if you know what you’re doing. Lethal dose is at the very least 20mg for ever kg you weigh. I’ve read 50mg/kg too. And at about 6 mg/kg I’m tripping balls. And DXM is not very addictive.
