survival: animal trapping 1.0 Created On July 09, 2006 Created By DaN-4333 ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
Chapter 1 Before I start I just want to say, this is not animal cruelty. I did not test the trap on animals (I used a teddy) and dismantled the traps after I had taken pictures of them. In this egg i will show you how to make two simple but useful traps, one deadly and the other will catch your prey alive.
Now on to the egg…….
the easy snare
for this you will need a piece of wood a hammer and some strong garden wire.
First take your long piece of wood and hammer it securely in to the ground.
Now tie the garden wire to the pole and make a slip knot so it hangs down at neck height for what ever you are planning to catch.
Ever seen in cartoons were the animal steps on the trap and they go flying up and get caught? Well this is that exact trap apart from one difference, they step through the trap
You will need two pieces of wood with cuts made in them, (use a saw) strong garden wire, a hammer, and a bendy tree.
Now hammer the two pieces of wood next to each other under the tree as shown.
Then tie the wire to the tree.
And tie a knot in the wire so it looks roughly like this.
Now bend the tree down so the knot fits in the cuts in the wood.
Well that’s my egg, it took quite some time to make so please rate fairly. And remember.... this isn’t animal cruelty. Its how to survive if one day you found yourself out in the jungle with no food, just basic equipment.

The End, Thank You For Reading My Egg This egg was created using the RottenEggs Egg Creator
Jul 09, 2006 2:09 am - klacid, ur very gay. this was a good egg i could never figure out how to make those traps. i have a metal 1 that i awlys catch squirels with :-) *5
Jul 14, 2006 7:15 pm - these kinds of traps DO work without bait. just place them along the animals trails. they work great for all sizes of animals. I’ve even seen a guy catch a small deer fawn in one. (he was trying to trap coyotes, so he let the deer go)
Jul 29, 2006 3:07 am - Lethal actually the second one can be lethal, 1. it can hang your prey if successfuly suspended 2. it could snap it’s neck especially if its a fast mover cause it will continue running then get sharply snapped backwards when it hits the limit of the cord or when it gets yanked backwards by the branch so 3*
Sep 14, 2006 10:05 pm - good idea and everything..............b t u forgot sumthin. suppose we were stuck in the wilderness how did i get that gardening wire and those nice pieces of wood shown in the pic and 1 more thing where did i get the bait from?
Nov 06, 2006 1:50 pm - i think i should mention that the height the trap should be set is one palm (this is for rabbits, they would probably be the most likely target with snares). Lay your hand sideways on the ground with your thumb pointing up. Position the wire so that it rests on top of your 4 fingers. thats the required height. btw 5*
Jan 27, 2007 10:17 pm - 5*’s dude not becouse ur my friend becouse i havent seen an egg like this at all and im gonna try it in the woods by my house. im gonna have a lot of fun ty for the awsome egg
wait, so the twitch up snare catches the animal alive? i want to get me a pet bunny d(-_-d)
do emos not use their common knowledge then? and to think i never called them useless- what would be the point of going to the trouble of making a twitch just to keep the animal alive? and why would it? :S
DaN should have said they are for when you set multiple traps, setting them far away or just because you’re lazy and dont check your traps every 12 hrs or so... they are used so that foxes and critters cant feast on your catch.
4* because its quick, snappy and informative.
not 5 because it lacks in-depth de5cription.
