Stoner’s Guide to Legal Highs Part II: Dimenhydrinate
Many of you on RE come here to search for a quick, easy and legal buzz. And the vast majority of eggs here totally suck when it comes to your satisfaction and safety. We’ve all seen the nutmeg eggs saying “eat like a shit load of nutmeg and youll be triipin ballz11!!” I’m here to put an end to the garbage, to protect you good folk from dangerous bullshit and educate you on exactly what causes those good vibrations. Sit back, relax, and let an old pro show you how it’s done.
DISCLAIMER: Before I get started, this document is purely for informational purposes only. I’m only writing this egg to PROTECT YOU from the lies and misconceptions that could get you hurt. Be advised that I’m not a doctor, and following my advice COULD cause you some bodily harm. But I think if you read my egg with an open mind, you will see how much of what you think you know could have killed you. I take no responsibility for your stupidity.
What’s an OTC?
An OTC is an Over-The-Counter medication that requires no pre5cription. This is the shit that you could find in your local pharmacy, or in places like Wal-Mart. They’re cheap drugs that treat symptoms like coughing, allergies, or motion sickness. In this egg, I will discuss the psychoactive Dimenhydrinate. OTCs are dangerous drugs, however. Any abuse of these chemicals can and will cause damage, at ANY dosage. However, I believe that it is important that you know how and why they can kill you, and what is the recommended dosage to experience the drug’s high.
Drug 2: Dimenhydrinate
Yea, what the hell?
Dimenhydrinate, my friends, is the active ingredient in motion sickness pills. It is used as an antihistamine as well as an antivertigo. But in high doses, this chemical can cause delirium and hallucinations. Of course, you’re probably thinking AWESOME. But Dimenhydrinate isn’t like LSD or ‘shrooms for that matter. Remember, Dimenhydrinate is an OTC and can (and does) cause lasting damage. My personal experience with this OTC has left some mark on me, as I am more prone to stuttering than before (but more on that later). If you’re still interested, read on.
Where can I find this shit?
Look no further than your local Wal-Mart, pharmacy, just about anywhere that sells home-products. Dimenhydrinate is marketed as the following brands:
Dramamine
Dimetabs
Triptone
Dinate
Gravol (sold in Canada)
They come in little boxes or bottles filled with tablets. These tablets contain Dimenhydrinate in average doses of 25 or 50 mg. And all it takes to get fucked up is usually one box.
The High
Dimenhydrinate has various effects. There are many potential good and bad effects, and I will list them as such. The average trip can include:
Positive:
Hallucinations (includes audio, sight, and olfactory, or “smell”)
Visualizations
Euphoria
Drunken-stoned feeling
Uncommon negatives:
Convulsions
Loss of consciousness
The problem with this drug is that the experience usually is not pleasant enough to try again. I have only done this once, and it was so-so. I saw things crawling on the white walls in my house, and black flies would swarm around my head. Whenever I would walk, I felt like I was carrying around 5 tons on my back. My limbs turned to stone and it was hard to move. I saw light flashes out of the corner of my eye. In reality, this “high” is barely a high, and because of this, most users rarely experiment with it more than once or twice.
Dosage
The average dosage for a med-heavy trip is 8-12 tablets, or about 500 mg. I wouldn’t recommend a higher dosage until you make sure that you aren’t allergic to the pills.
Jul 10, 2006 12:53 am - Take Benadryl allergy pills, there is an active ingredrient called Diphenhydramine which alot of my friends have had good experiences with, you should take two first to test if your allergic to the pills then I usually take 12, then 6 more about 20 minutes later. Check out different sites on this if your considering using Diphenhydramine though.

Jul 10, 2006 10:04 am - Ah, Dimenhydrinate is awsome, although one time I took 24, cause I was told that’s a heavy dose and I would be hallucinating my ass off. I have never had a hallucination [aside from things twitching and pulsating and sliding across the floor =P] on this, and i get SO DAMN CONFUSED, and my short term memory disappears. I could be typing something and forget what I was typing and not able to figure out what i was typing XD. Diphenhydramine is Benadryl, it’s very similar to dramamine, except dramamine is only 60% of the strength of Diphenhydramine. For me, diphenhydramine seems to have more sedating effects, i get lazy and i like to be alone on it, if someone talks to me they sound 10 times louder and i get irritable from people talking. Also, the downside of these drugs in my opinion, is I get EXTREMELY drowsy and I have to fight it off and wait for the high. I also prefer benadryl since they are in capsules, dramamine tastes like shit. You could of course get the chewable tablets though, they taste good =).

Ju 20, 2006 12:03 am - Eh...Good egg but...That’s pretty much whats in benadryl =\...And i was in the hospital for overdose(I don’t know how but i ended up eating a whole box of 32 pills)...And i don’t remember anything but seeing my shadow come off the wall, and a flash of going to the hospital. My parents said they came home, and found me falling around the house and took me to the hospital. And in the hospital..they said i was yelling at the doctors "I HAVE TO GO TO ENGLISH CLASS!" and when they wanted me in a wheel chair "I WANT MY WHEEL BARREL!"...and they kept asking me what day its on and i kept talking in spainish...So...I don’t really recommend this.

Jun 05, 2007 5:57 pm - i have also tripped on em but do you guys know that weird light feeling in your muscles? i actually dont like that it makes me feel sick, and tahts the high. Idk i love weed way more but its harder to use in a house w/ parents.
