Nothing too interesting here really. Its a substation for the Empire State Pipeline.
Quote: The Empire State Pipeline, a 157-mile natural gas transmission pipeline running from an interconnection with TransCanada Pipeline near Buffalo, NY to Syracuse, NY, began operation in 1993. It provides natural gas transportation to major industrial companies, utilities and power producers in the western and central New York area. These utilities and power producers, in turn, supply over 1 million customers with energy. In addition, Empire transports gas to interstate pipelines in the same geographic area.
The place reeked of natural gas and the pipes made odd noises when I went near them. All in all--I wasnt that comfertable around this place. When I went to Bethlehem Steel I was exposed to minimal levels of radiation and some pretty decent levels of chemcial hazards, I felt safer there then I did at this place for some reason.
I didnt get into the tiny buildings for many reasons:
-They were locked
-Im not fucking with that shit
-Odds are, what was in there? Gauges and Meters. Wha-de-do-la-fucking-da.
Heres the pictures.
-As you can see, the gate was high enough for my skinny ass to crawl under.
-Fuck you, Im calling 911.
-In simpler terms "Fuck with this, you and everything around you is gone."
-I dont know what the hell this is. Im guessing it is to releave extra pressure.
This is a bridge that I crossed to get to it. Its used by the people that work at the place.
The bridge is a cool chill spot, but the gas substation is not. Not my coolest exploration, but none the less, an exploration.

Oh Yeah I think one of the legs of your tripod is shorter than the other 2... some of the photos look a little lop-sided...
To get a perfect picture check the ground is level... you can buy a little level thingo with a yellow tube and a bubble that can get your pictures perfect!! they only cost like $10 at most! |

Those buildings lead underground. Notice all the pipes n such that run straight down? All the work takes place down there. Go for it man! Make sure your bring a light though ;) |
