Not to sound like a nerd, but this summer my friends and I have played halo 2 constantly and we have gotten extremely well at the game by taking an internet cord and playing 2 on 2 with each other in separate rooms so as to eliminate screen cheating(don’t you hate that?). These are some things I’ve learned during the mind numbing hours of playing this video game. I know there are many of these but fuck them this one is better.
When snipping
- Be the color of the area you plan to be in so as to blend in a not be noticed. Area color -
- Instead of a name just put a space as your name so when your opponent is looking around your name wont pop up and give away your position even when your opponent didn’t see you in the first place.
- Use a covenant sniper rifle because it doesn’t leave a two second smoke stream after the shot and is less likely to give away your position. And it doesn’t have to reload it just has to cool down.
- Always take a rocket launcher with you in case some prick comes after you with a vehicle.
When out of ammo -
-Don’t engage in battle when you are behind someone, a simple whack on the back of the head will kill them.
- Lets say some yuppie cock sucker is sniping. You have one rocket and no snipping ammo. Take the sniper rifle and zoom in for a hit. Switch to your rocket launcher and fire. If you’ve lined it up correctly the rocket will hit him in about ten seconds. I say that because the rockets are slow.
- Get in a tank or ghost and go find ammo
In Coagulation -
Snipping spots -
- Behind the red base in the very back of a crevasse sn a good sniping spot, it is more effective than you think. Area color - brown
- Just beyond, above and to the right of the blue base in a small platform cover by a rock that can be accessed via a ghost or a banshee which is also a good sniping area from both ends. Area color - orange
PS You have to glide the ghost up the inclined rocks to get there.
- Facing the cliff, take a banshee and fly up to the cliff behind and slightly to the right of the blue base and drop out when you’ve reached an incline that will support you. Now you are in the third most hard to find snipping spot in that level. Area color - orange
- Facing the cliff, take a banshee and fly up to the cliff behind and slightly to the left of the red base and drop out when you’ve reached an incline that will support you. Now you are in the second most hard to find snipping spot in that level because of the shadow on the cliff. Area color -brown
- Take a banshee and fly up to the tallest tree near the mouth of the cave to the right of the red base and were the portal to the red base leads to. Dismount at the top of the tree and after some trial and error you will be covered by foliage and in the best snipping spot in that whole level. This is the most hard to find spot and the best view of the level.
Area color – green
Keep in mind that all snipping spots are temporary because your position will be noticeable with every shot you take
Miscellaneous –
- Stuck with a plasma pistol? Charge it up and land a successful shot to completely lower your opponent’s shield; then melee his ass and he’s dead.
-Want to send you teammate flying? Set the rules to no friendly fire and press the L button in a wraith when your partner is in front of you to send him in on unsuspecting victims.
- Throw a plasma grenade on your partner with the no friendly fire rule and you now have a suicide bomber except for the suicide or death of your partner.
- Tanks can climb up very steep walls. Go into the arch behind the red base with a tank and run up the wall at an angle. If done correctly you can climb up to the snipping spot I mentioned earlier and use the tank as cover or shoot down on unsuspecting victims as they say WTF!? As they see a freaking tank on the wall. The same can be done for the wall near the snipping spot with the platform and the rock off to the side of the blue base. However you are completely noticeable and prey to racketeers.

Jul 29, 2006 8:01 pm - Normal halo noob stuff. Good though, for the less intense players. a good tech for when useing the shotgun is to shoot and hit b(if u use default controlls) right after you hit it. Also, if some noob is commin after you and you have to reload ur shotty, you can shoot and reload like hit x, shoot,hit x, shoot. follow that till you can get some time to reload. Also, if you wish to get to a high place and have an oversheild (or ur the juggernaut) get a rocket launcher and aim at ur feet. Jump and shoot b4 the apex.
Jul 31, 2006 9:08 am - halo’s my favorite game.. and u did a pretty good job explaining how to use the sniper altho u left out my favorite tip that helped me the most " put ur sensitivity on 10 and if u see an enemy zoom in and move ur crosshair towards his head as fast as u can and shoot when u think its within a couple inches of his head.. dont try stoping on his head just shoot"... it takes practice but once u get it down it kicks ass... im ok at halo but i will rape any1 in snipers because of tht tip i was told.. 5*
Apr 21, 2007 1:25 am - its good but you play wya to much halo 2. i cant stand more than 1 hour a week of it. im more of a battlefront 2 person (ps 2) (sony kicks microsofts ass. no in $$$$$ but in quality)
