This is a story of when my friend and I hiked through the forest along the rouge river near my house. (sorry, no picture, didnt think to bring the camera.)
So, my friend(jeremy) and i set off from my house, armed with: a knife each, airsoft guns, food, and camo outfits.
We originally planned to just go down to the creek and have an airsoft battle, but we just kept walking and walking. We decided that we would keep walking and find out where we ended up.
We had been walking for about 30 mins now and were strting to wonder where we were. We decided it would just be best to follow the river, to not get lost.
About 45 mins in after shooting a few ducks, we decided to put the airsoft guns in the backpack, and start to adventure.
We had been walking for about an hour now, and had NO clue where we were. We stuck by the river as much as we could, but the river swirved off to one side, and we kept going straight.
We hiked through the woods, only knowing to go straight. We saw a few deer, which is when we realized we were deep in the woods. We both pulled out our knives, just to be safe, and kept wandering.
So it was about and hour and a half in to our adventure, our parents not knowing where we were, us not even knowing ourselves where we were.
We pondered the thought of heading back, but decided against it. Then out of nowhere, we saw the river again. We knew better now, and we followed it.
We got to a golf course, and knew we were in some kind of civilization. After stealing multiple greens flags fromm the golf course, we kept walking until we found some train tracks, which we then followed.
Our bag full of flags, railroad spikes, and no trespassing signs, we followed the train tracks onto a bridge that must have been 200 feet above the shallow creek below. We were scared, as we were right on the tracks, and if the train happened to come we would be dead. At that moment, we were talking about if the train did come, when we heard the faint echo of "choo-choo". We were scared shitless, because we still had alot of bridge to get across. We ran, and got off the bridge. About 5 mins later we saw the train cross it.
We were now walking along a road, which many cars were honking at us from. We walked, and walked but there was nothing in sight. At this point it was getting quite dark.
Alas, a house! We walked up to the house, and knocked on the door. A middle aged woman came to the door, and we asked if we could use the phone. She said yes, not asking any questions. (we looked like shit at this point) I called my mom and described to her where we were, and she said we were on the ninth line.
About 30 mins later, My mom showed up, and thanked the lady for not raping us, and we were off. Jeremy and I each went home, and i had a shower, and a nap.
So overall, we were hiking for about 2 hours and 30 mins.
Thanks for reading, and please note i DID NOT make this up. This all really happened.
Thanks,
-Ribozome |
