This is based off an article on I-Hacked. I am re-doing it for those who are not stuck in the world of 2.8, or cant down grade.
Ever want to use your computer while away from it? Got a PSP at 1.5? Well my friend, your in luck. Using a VNC and your psp with your computer, you can do just that.
Now, as most PSP-homebrewers know, everything is better on 1.5. Yea, you cant play many games.. Or can you? That’s not the point of this egg though.
This part is optional. You are gonna need Dev-hook if you plan on still using your psp for games after 1.5, but you can go get that your self from like psp-hacks.com or w/e.
Next, your going to need a VNC type program. Either TightVNC or, you can go to psp-hacks again, http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/660 is the link to their PSP-VNC. Also, if you are on anything higher than 1.5 you need the MPH down grader which can be found at http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/3 That only works from 2.0 to 1.5 for a newer version you can search PSP-Hacks download section, but 2.0 is where I was when I did this.
Now, first, if you don’t have a memory card set up for homebrew or anything, make these files. (for me, G:\ is my PSP folder) G:\psp. Inside that make a folder named games. So when you see it in your folders address bar it says G:\PSP\games. Put the PSP-VNC in that folder. Install Tight VNC on your computer like any other program.
Next, on your PSP, shut off the battery save option in the WLAN settings.
THIS PART WILL BE C/P BECAUSE I FOLLOWED IT TO THE EXACT POINT, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO THAT ALSO, SO EVERYTHING WORKS CORRECTLY

Next we need to configure our PSP to work on our network. to do this we go to the Settings tab then all the way down to "Network Settings" From here select "Infrastructure Mode" then "-New Connection-" name it whatever you want to. On the next page you need to know your SSID, if your network is broadcasting your SSID you can just press the Scan button, here you will also need to input any encryptions your network may have, Assuming we have no encryption and our network is broadcasting our SSID (most factory defaults are set this way) we will select the Scan option and select our wireless network. On the next page titled "Address Settings" YOU MUST SELECT CUSTOM FOR THIS TO WORK WITH PVNC. In IP Address Settings select MANUAL you will be presented with a page that looks like this:
Ok, now go to start, hit RUN, and type in cmd.exe , or go to Start – All programs – Accessories – Command Prompt. Type in ipconfig /all and hit enter. You should be given some lines of text. Look for
IP address ………….:
Subnet Mask………..:
Default Gateway……:
DNS Servers………..:
That is what you need, ignore the other information. Don’t bother with the exact ip.
Most networks are default set to somthin like 192.168.0.0 or somthin like that. For this next step I would use 192.168.0.50 unless another computer is using it.
Now, on your PSP go to Network settings and make a new connection with an Infrastructure Mode. Go to the manual set up and enter the IP,subnet, ect, in to their rightful spots. On the next area of settings, don’t worry bout the proxy unless you use one, if you do, then just set it up and your ready and done.
Now, run Tight VNC on your computer. If you already haven’t, get out of USB mode on your psp and go to games, then memstick , then find VNC and open it. Go to the new host spot in it and set up YOUR HOST router’s IP (the one your getting the net from).
Name it somthin like “My house connection”. Then select Mac, Linux or Windows (this tut was made for windows so go with that.) After you are done it will show you your connection, click that and you should see whatever is on your computer’s screen.
Controls for VNC are –
Analog stick for mouse movement
X for left click
O for right click
Triangle for the virtual keyboard.
Thanks for reading. As said above, this is based off of an article on I-Hacked. I made it easy to follow, and also included links to what you need. Devhook is only needed for people who wish to still play 2.0 and up games. This only works on 1.5 (that I know of)

Aug 13, 2006 3:51 pm - I would go with either a modchip (i would have it porfessionaly installed, dont try it your self), or, yea, the new psp would be good. OR you can trade your psp off with some stupid fuck with somthin under 2.7
Also, C4-7973, There are downgraders, but none for 2.7 yet. I had made a mistkae. If you get a 1.5 though you can use Devhook and emulate 2.7, so you can play 2.7 games with out upgrading
