Selling your vehicle for more

Pedals steering smoking
Smoking vehicles becomig non-smoking vehicles
This one method can add a few grand to the selling price of a vehicle.
First, Remove all items from vehicle, including ash trays, floormats, lighters, empty smoke packs, Marlboro Miles, etc.
Second, use a vaccuum cleaner with the power paw attachment (see picture) and clean the entire interior so it is spotless.
Third, now use a steam cleaner with steam attachments and clean the entire interior (carpet and seats) don’t use on the headliner or your radio for obvious reasons.
Fourth, use a hair drier on HOT and dry the interior, this will prevent a "mold" smell and will hasten drying time. Take your time on this step.
Fifth, make sure your ashtray and electric lighter are clean, if there is ANY evidence of this, go to an auto parts store and buy new ones (usually easier to find at the dealer). It costs money but is well worth it
Fianally, spray the interior with Frebreeze or other neutral air type of product. Let the vehicle sit outside for 24 hours with the windows rolled down. MAKE SURE IT ISNT ABOUT TO RAIN!!! The next day, spray a weak scent down the vents and wipe all the crevices and cracks and the dash with Armor All or other product. Get TWO of those tree air freshners and hide them under the seat, new car smell works wonders.
Congratulations, you just added $500 - $5000 to the sale price!

Hiding wear
Always use a steering wheel cover, also people can tell if you beat on the car by looking on the right hand side of the brake. If it is worn that indicates many panic brakes and hard starts. Replace cover(s). The same applies to manual transmissions with the clutch pedal.
CHANGE THE OIL AND AIR FILTER
Anyone who knows about cars will check this for dirt. If it is clean then "Oh...It was maintained!!!"
Clean the exterior and rims. Shine the tires and clean all the glass.
A quick trick is to use a spray oil on a rag and then wipe down the plastic (non-clear coated) trim. This works a shitload better than armor all. But DONT use oil in the interior, as it will leave a smell.

I personally wouldn’t use armorall...on certain types of dashboards, it looks good initially, but in the long run, it actually causes damage...then again, if yer trying to sell it, what do you care? you won’t have it in the long run. this is good info for people who don’t know, so I give you 5*s |

Dawg- I know, I am a truck kind of guy, not a piece of shit rice-burner slammed to the ground with multicolored fenders. My main focus was about the smoke, and maybe I named this egg wrong. Irregardless it is swell of me to write this. And seat covers suck because if you rip ass, it holds the smell longer. |
