Introduction
Dictionary.com defines addiction as Compulsive physiological and psychological need for a habit-forming substance. In this egg I will teach you how to deal with a habitual addiction to any chemical. Wether it be coffee or heroin, this guide will teach you everything you need to know. For the past three years I have been off and on with cigarettes, opium (Fairly recently), among other substances. I have been struggling to get off them, but have only had some luck. I find now I can’t even go to school in the mourning with out a cigarette and I can’t make it through the day without puffing another pack down. When I do get home and I want to fall asleep, I can only do so with some opium. After becoming habituated with this ritual, I will explain on how you too can manage an addiction while still leading a normal life.
Step 1: Knowing Your Addiction
In a recent showing of half baked, I noticed a very important part in identifying your addiction. When Dave Chapelle goes to rehab, Bob Saget stands up to say how he would suck dick for coke. For instance, if your precious amphetamine was taken away from you and the only way you would get it is by sucking off some ass-ugly dude, would you do it? If you answered yes, your probably addicted (unless you really go for that kind of stuff).
Of course, some people have not physical addictions that can actually interfere with your life, such as mescaline. When I had a run in with my precious Peyote, all I could think about day in and day out was getting my hands on that Cactus. Even though I didn’t NEED it, my whole life became centered around it. If this is your case, please roll down to section three.
Step 2: Strict Timetable
When I first relized I had become dependant on nicotine, I found it incredibly easy to puff a cigarette through the day, anytime I wanted. After a while, I relized how I needed to set some guidelines for myself. You can to with an easy planner. Let’s say your addicted to heroin (as is two of my friends). The first thing that you’ll want to do is to set some guidelines. Instead of shooting up whenever you want, try a big nose of H in the morning and last on that buzz until the next morning. Or doing the opposite. Only using your smack at night, so you can push through the day knowing that a reward is sitting at home for you. This well help you develop a schedule, which you slowly space out even more(One of my friends is down to once every two weeks!).
Step 2: Dose Limitation
Even with a strict schedule, one can learn a loophole in this step by simply upping there dose from something like 25 mgs of diazepam to something more like 70+ mgs of diazepam. Through this method you can ’cheat the system.’ Though this sounds like a grand idea, it won’t help you out, and will only end up screwing yourself over. I’m not going to list a dose table/chart for you, as that would just take up room and no one would follow it. Making up your own mind it easy. Figure out what you’d like to have, and then cut the dose by something along the lines of 40-60%. When I was taking opium, I managed to take my dose from 3 bowls, to half a bowl a day. This is probably the hardest step, but by far the most effective one.
Step 3: Non-Physical Addiction
Not all addictions are physical. The biggest addiction I remember was an addiction to mescalito. After about two months (and a helluva lot of cash) later, I decided to stop. This was not, by any means, easy. I thought that a mental addiction would be a piece of cake. For the next week I was the most pissed off guy you would ever meet. During this time I even lost a very precious woman to me. After it was over, I ended up with a dorm room, um, renovation. Even to this day, I still have a slight craving for cacti.
Recently, a person I knew (Not very well) went to rehab for an addiction to nitrous. Recently I did some nitrous (crazy shit that was) and I can see how he needed to go to rehab for it. From what I was told by some staff at the facility, he was doing 6 whippets a day, sometimes more. Though I never felt any craving for them, I can see why he had checked himself in.
So, my best advice for you is to stop altogether, and then decide after about a couple months if you want to go back.
Step 4: Going Cold Turkey
After a while on an agenda with limited doseage, there will come a time were you’ll want to quit all together. Here are some helpful tips for doing this.
-If possible, move to a different city, state, province or country where you won’t be able to find any of it for a while.
- Get rid of all your addictive substances (Not your whole stash, just the drugs that are giving you problems)
- Get rid of all your paraphernalia relating to the drug your trying to get off.
- Go online or to a book store a read stories about people quitting and people who didn’t quit.
- (This technique helped me out alot) When I wanted to quit smoking, whenever I craved, I would convince myself that I would just smoke later, at another date.
There are many, many others and if you really have a problem and are serious about quitting I would happy to tell you if you more if you email me or add me on msn.
Closing
In closing, I wish all people the best in quitting whatever is holding them back from living a normal life. If your just reading this egg casually though, please vote high! |

Tav, you have no need to worry about that. Most people on the site are more intrested in self-destruction rather than self-help. |

 | Au 19, 2006 2:16 am - This is a very good egg. Many of my friends had physiological addictions to weed, they got to the point that they had to have about 2 cones at recess and around 5 at lunch followed by many more after school. It was really scary because they would have different personalities and emotions every 10 minutes. They all started quiting about 7 months ago and they still aren’t back to their usual selfs. Luckily I have more control over my self and limit myself to only doing drugs at parties. A good way to tell if you need to quit is if you find yourself taking drugs by yourself (it can be very dangerous without someone else with you). 5*’s, if I ever get addicted to anything this egg is the first thing I will look to. |

 | Aug 19, 2006 2:19 am - All the people I know with addictions couldn’t even read this shit cuz they killed all their braincells...3* anywayz though for the effort |

 | A g 19, 2006 3:37 am - Great egg very informative 5 stars | |
