Well,I wasted about 100 eggpoints trying to post this...and the images just wont work...maybe it\’ll work this time.
Well, down the road a bit and into the woods a bit, there is The Metal tree. It recently was tipped over by vandals (shakes fist) but when it was up,it was quite the site to see. Down a hill further into the woods, are stone foundations to houses that no longer stand, weird rock steps,a small waterfall and a weird furnace right next to the waterfall. Enjoy.
View of tree site from a distance (blurry because of night shot)
The tree (a little closer, blurry from night shot)
The Tree close up (does no justice to how big it is)
A foundation to an old house that no longer stands (can hardly see it,but it looks like a big dirt mound behind some of the trees,on the right side...but its all rocks that form a wall...)
A little dark, but at the top is another foundation further down the hill...at the top there is a big concrete-walled hatch. There is nothing inside the hatch, but its pretty strange to be in the middle of the woods.
The stone steps that lead up a hill in the middle of the woods.
The waterfall (blurry from night shot)
Weird Stone Furnace/chimeny thing right next to the waterfall.
sorry the images are blurry...but its from night shot on my crappy camera...enjoy. |

 | Aug 29, 2006 12:22 am - wtf i thought this egg was gonna be the heavy metal family tree like in Metal: a headbanger\’s journey. *5 for getting my hopes up and reminding me of that awsome movie |

 | Aug 29, 2006 1:19 am - 4* shoulda gone during the day. Pretty area, I\’d love to visit. |

 | Aug 29, 2006 1:21 am - IDK,it\’s just in the middle of the woods,lol.
I heard that the land was owned by an artist during the 60\’s...so that might explain stuff |

 | Aug 29, 2006 2:20 am - Vandals They need to have someone trash their property for every time they trash another! |

 | Aug 29, 2006 2:33 am - looks like an interesting place 5*
i\’ll get one of an abandoned coal works near where i live, pretty silent hill/resident evilish |

 | Aug 29, 2006 4:29 am - I think some fuck tards rate it down as soon as they see the blurry photos with out even bothering to read it.
The waterfall looks pretty cool, have you ever tried to get into the hatch? It might be like an underground base or suttin, like off Lost. Which is on tonight in the UK, woop!
Fives, six if you can get into the hatch =p |

 | Aug 29, 2006 6:26 am - ok ehhh..... it\’s ok |

 | Aug 29, 2006 8:30 am - 5* for j00! Not the best pictures, but its still cool. |

 | Aug 29, 2006 12:56 pm - We got into the hatch a while back,its just a pit thats like 5 feet deep,but the walls are concrete,so it\’s not just a hole...pretty weird...
we found a second one further into the woods,it was a little deeper than the first, pretty cool, there is tons more stuff back there, like remains of an old stone house...if i get pics of the hatches and the house and this weird old volkwagon back there, then i will post a new egg. Also, there is a big pit back there,it has tons of garbage bags, most ripped open from bears and age...down in the pit are bottles of soda with dates ranging from the 1960s-1990s...very old tab cans, old coke bottles from the 60s,and surge bottles from the 90s...pretty weird. |
